Hero is planning 400 cc diesel bike after HONDA divorce , most probably they will launch it in Q4 2012 .

they told a lot of details i could not remember all, deal to be signed with some Chennai firm for engine supply they also told the engine is under ARAI certification.

interesting... so the first 400cc bike for india will run on diesel.

I bought a Diesel bullet for this same purpose 2 years ago. To fit a better engine. Initially planned for Punsun V2 diesel engine 25 hp but I have no idea to import from china. I have almost decided to sell the bike but after seeing the acceleration and smoothness of mahindra maxximo CR2 i am decided to wait to see the engine in flesh and wait. I may use Comet autogear rather than enfield Gearbox
