    @gold heart: Yeah i guessed it.. thanx for reposting..The bike sure looks chic, Good Job. Actually it looks like the bike im currently riding right now.Its a friends classic 180...just like yours, will post pics later. Mak 20W50 was a very good oil, cheap too but not available any more. And About 20W50GTX, well ive used the oil once, was told abt it at one of the mumbai g2g's by one of our members. The oil is no doubt good but i felt the engine a little harsh compared to the normal Active extra (Castrol) that i was using before.The clutch slippage was the major problem i faced with its use...never happened with Active extra or Power1. Power1 is an excellent oil but whenever i used it (around 7 oil changes) the level always went down post 1000kms, so now im stuck on active extra. Will be trying Mobil 20W50 for bikes, heard its good and a lot of bulleteers out here use this oil. Btw what additives have you used? do let me know. And ya, u said that you changed the swing arm assembly, it looks like you just replaced swing arm along with the shox Right? You could have gone in for the dts-i swing arm..the ride would have been a lil more flickable with a longer wheelbase.

      ^^ yeah Rohan post pics of ur baby too. Anyways the story of your cousins bike is quite heart warming. Personally even i liked the way the classic handles. Wish I could have kept my CBZ, would have brought her back to stock. well, atleast i have my aging ZMA now.

        Btw, i would like to hear your own opinion and experience with this oil too.

        The GTX is for cars as it supports dry clutch systems. If it is used in bikes - which happen to have wet clutch system, the clutch slips a lot.

            @pavan: You're 100% right. GTX is the oil recomended for cars.

              @pavan,
              Its been approx 8 yrs with my ride and 3 yrs in G.M. Dont you think i know that by now! hehe..

              See, this really can be a topic for debate, where lots of people have lots of talks to say. Like there is one set of people who have used car oils like GTX/Magnatec and swear by the fact that their bike runs as good or better than other oiled bikes. And then there are others who rubbish that claim. Well I think both parties are correct as long as they say merely what they have observed yet. I've been using the oil for since the beginning along with oil additives.(Nulon in the beginning and then Bajaj's very own Engine additive) The bike has performed gr8 upto this far.
              As for negatives, everything in this good world has one, Bro. So, why not go with our own instincts and see, whatever fits, hits the Road !!

              @ripper,
              I would really appreciate seeing your frnd's "Classic", if its maintained good this far.

                  Yep, its been a lifetime on this machine. About overhauls, quite frankly Very few!
                  Engine sealing is still intact. Timely clutch and pressure plates changes, half yearly suspension and fork maintenance and most importantly regular care for bike. Installed K&N and an Automech exhaust few years ago along with a NGK plug. Even today, the performance is awesome. Even though all these things, i think the most important part was sticking with GTX20w50 and Speed fuel from the beginning. Here are few shots of my machine!

                  New swing arm assembly installation at BAL along with new paint schemes and shockers!

                  I just love this cherry red colour on the P180. BTW I have the exact same keychain..but red in colour

                      @velociraptor: Well yeah i know reddy but the thing is that he quoted me 20K for a rebuild and conversion to DTS-i, so just want to reconfirm that figure from some other mech... i dont doubt his capabilities but the amount is a bit too steep IMO.

                          Yep, Automech is still performing gr8 after all these years. Only the sound got much denser with the time. Apart from that, Pick-Up & Mid-Range are well delivered.

                                Latest Update: The bike had gone for a complete overhaul, new Block and Piston, chain sprocket, valves ,starter motor, avengers coil plate, P200 Carb, timing chain etc etc. Feels smoother and gruntier now, infact much better than the recently overhauled 180 of the friends that im using. My funds took the beating though.....nearly 12K on all that and still a few things left to do... need to get a new battery, chain cover, leg guard, turn signals, and wheels and tyres. Lets see how that happens.

                                @moeed and ceaser: Thanks guys
