      1) Some places are good and some are not it depends on places too.

      2) Yes that helps a lot, especially when a customer is new to bikes and has zero knowledge about it.

      3) Not completely, but satisfied the way they wash the bikes.

      4) No its a problem for the sevice center owner as well as the customers,
the mechs who service the bikes will be under fatigue hence screwing up things are bound to happen.

      5) 3hrs is not required one and a half hour is ok.

      6) 100 bucks to the guy who serviced my bike, only if i am completely happy with the work.

      7) Again here the oil cost comes into pic, if its normal mineral oil 350/- is ok.

      8) No way i dont wanna screw my bike at all, i would rather go there be there and get the things done under my supervision.

        1. Ans - Yes, "Ambience" by itself is fine. Additions may include better seating arrangements, exclusive shop for accessories, etc.

        2. Ans - Yes, it will. The customer should be provided such info.

        3. Ans - No, Bajaj Manual says there are 30 steps in the service. During my 2 years ownership, the service station couldn't complete even 3 steps at any one service.

        4. Ans - Yes, this way mechanics can work in shifts and give more time per bike. Although, testing a bike after service might become an issue at night on roads.

        5. Ans - 4 hours are enough.

        6. Ans - Rs. 50 would be fine, if the work is satisfactory. I mean, less time is fine, but it shouldn't compromise on service quality.

        7 . Ans - Rs. 400 is fine.

        8. Ans - No, I don't trust mechanics. Earlier, they have changed my spares, like Fuel Tank, etc. I get it serviced in my own presence.

        9. Your name, email id&Name of the bike currently owned?

        9. Ans - Samarth Singh.
        email: [email protected]
Red Color. Bajaj Pulsar 180 UG3 2007 Model.

        10. Ans- 1 hour, which includes just washing, wiping or oil change if any...

                1. Do you think the ambience in the existing service stations is good ? If NO then what do you think the ambience must be like?

                1. Ans - It is good where I get my bike serviced. Haven't seen any other yet.

                2. Do you think educating the customer about the bike and its maintenance will enhance the rapport with the customer?

                2. Ans - Little bit. People in India tend to have the "I already know about it"...."Oh what you think I am? A Kid?"..attitude. They will be happy telling the service center how to take care of their bike instead. Moreover the money making tactics have gone to such levels that the Customer will think that they are doing it to make more money. And some service centers do it. I was being forced to buy a Ceat tyre for my Pulsar by the service centers since they claimed it to be the best.

                3. Have you been able to get a complete transparent service at your last or regular service station ? If YES in what way were you satisfied?

                3. Ans - Yes. You can sit there and watch your bike getting serviced. If you know what they are doing then it is completely transparent.

                4. Do you think night servicing option is a good idea?

                4. Ans - What's that? (Proves not everyone knows about it).

                5. What do you think is the ideal time required to service a bike?

                        1. Do you think the ambience in the existing service stations is good ? If NO then what do you think the ambience must be like?
A - They can be more consumer friendly. There's never an end to perfection after all.

                        2. Do you think educating the customer about the bike and its maintenance will enhance the rapport with the customer?
A - Yes. But it also depends on whether the customer is willing to sacrifice some of his time to learn more about his/her vehicle.

                        3. Have you been able to get a complete transparent service at your last or regular service station ? If YES in what way were you satisfied?
A - Almost. I like the fact that some of the mechs will actually take care of the vehicle and not just see it as another project to earn their livelihood from. Very few guys do this though. You are really lucky if you get such guys.

                        4. Do you think night servicing option is a good idea?
                        A - Yes.

                        5. What do you think is the ideal time required to service a bike?
                        A - 3hrs.

                        6. If the ideal time chosen is the least and you think time is money, then how much extra are u willing to pay on the ideal cost ?
                        A - Rs. 100

                        7. What do you think is the ideal cost for servicing a bike (Basic oils and Excluding spares)?
                        A - Rs. 400

                        8. Do you like to have a door delivery and pickup of your bike, If YES then how much are you ready to pay per Km ?
                        A - NO

                          1. Do you think the ambience in the existing service stations is good ? If NO then what do you think the ambience must be like?

                          1. Ans - Ambience is fine. A small noise isolated area fro about 10 people is sufficient.

                          2. Do you think educating the customer about the bike and its maintenance will enhance the rapport with the customer?

                          2. Ans - Yes, it will. From a customer point of you, its good, but from a center owner's point, it could be a loss of money. What a center owner should do

is, provide opportunity for a Bike owner to come to the service center and be able to work on his bike using the Service Center's tools and help from a

mechanic. For this he could be nominal charge of only using tools and consultation from Mechanic. ofcourse parts used should be as per MRP.

                          3. Have you been able to get a complete transparent service at your last or regular service station ? If YES in what way were you satisfied?

                          3. Ans - Is there ever a transparent service? I am not aware of it. If you can provide it, Brilliant.

                          4. Do you think night servicing option is a good idea?

                          4. Ans - 24x7 support is a good idea. But maintaining 2 shifts for Mechanics could be difficult I suppose.

                          5. What do you think is the ideal time required to service a bike?

                          a. 3hrs
                          b. 4hrs
                          c. 5hrs

                          5. Ans - Depends on the kind of Service the bike needs. Mechanic should be the best judge for this. After all he is the one who has to meet the specified

                          deadline.

                          6. If the ideal time chosen is the least and you think time is money, then how much extra are u willing to pay on the ideal cost ?

                          a. Rs 50
                          b. Rs 75
                          c. Rs 100

                          6. Ans - Why should I pay extra, if the service center could not meet the deadline?

                          7. What do you think is the ideal cost for servicing a bike (Basic oils and Excluding spares)?

                          a. 350
                          b. 400
                          c. 500

                          7 . Ans - Cost of Oil(s) + 100 should be a good deal.

                          8. Do you like to have a door delivery and pickup of your bike, If YES then how much are you ready to pay per Km ?

                          a. Rs 3
                          b. Rs 4
                          c. Rs 5

                          8. Ans - Yes, if my bike is dead. In this case, i guess I would be willing to pay any thing for a Home Delivery Pick Up. In other cases Rs.5.00/- per KM shd

                          be fine.

                          9. Your name, email id&Name of the bike currently owned?

                          9. Ans - Shobhit Mathur, [email protected]. Blue Suzuki Fiero.

                          10. Ans- Rs.400/-

Lots of ideas in mind, Could get in touch with me for discussions. All the Best.

                              1. Ans - Ambience is fine in general

                              2. Do you think educating the customer about the bike and its maintenance will enhance the rapport with the customer?

                              2. Ans - Could help, depends on how knowledgable the customer is to begin with and if the information given is genuine.

                              3. Have you been able to get a complete transparent service at your last or regular service station ? If YES in what way were you satisfied?

                              3. Ans - Getting complete feedback about what they do during service isn't always easy.

                              4. Do you think night servicing option is a good idea?

                              4. Ans - For some people it could be an added advantage. It really depends on the person.

                              5. What do you think is the ideal time required to service a bike?

                              a. 3hrs
                              b. 4hrs
                              c. 5hrs

                              5. Ans - A, but it really, really depends on the amount of work that has to be done.

                              6. If the ideal time chosen is the least and you think time is money, then how much extra are u willing to pay on the ideal cost ?

                              c. Rs 100

                              6. Ans - C, provided they do not cut corners, I'd be willing to pay extra.

                              7. What do you think is the ideal cost for servicing a bike (Basic oils and Excluding spares)?

                              a. 350
                              b. 400
                              c. 500

7 . Ans - C, but this completely depends on the cost of the oil and quality of the work done by the service center. Again, if the job is done properly with sufficient care, I'd be willing to pay extra.

                              8. Do you like to have a door delivery and pickup of your bike, If YES then how much are you ready to pay per Km ?

                              c. Rs 5

                              8. Ans - C, same reasoning, when given proper care and service, those involved should be stimulated.

                              9. Your name, email id&Name of the bike currently owned?

                              10. Current Average amount spent on servicing each time (excluding spares)

                              10. Ans- No services done yet, but from the previous bike (Honda Shine), about Rs300

As a side note: I already expressed the thought that a service center where quality and service are given the highest priority would be worth paying a bit extra. This is because I have always experienced that a lot of service centers will often try to downplay or downright ignore an issue being presented, without proper investigation. Thus a SVC that will listen to the customer is worth paying a premium.
