No registration or any such thing is needed. Make sure you have the original pic though. The magazine should have obtained your permission to publish the pics in the first place. But before taking extreme steps like approaching the court and all i must warn you that Indian laws are incredibly lax when it comes to IP and copyright issues.

In that case that reporter and the thread starter can enter into an agreement to split the goodies if they get themOriginally posted by Wheel_Spin View PostThe copyright belongs to the photographer who shot it. If you guys hired him to do so or paid for his services then the copyright belongs to you guy. If its the former then there is nothing much you can do except accepting the fact or enjoying it even. After all how many biking groups make it a Tee :P
If its the latter then you can ofcourse ask for a royalty or fees based on the fact that you guys own the rights to the image.
On a more serious note, take a legal opinion from somebody you trust. Personally though this looks trivial. In a country where large corporations are of the opinion that IPR/TMs/etc protection & enforcement is poor this would be a non-issue.A lone amateur built the ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic...

Well i suppose i was the first one to see this Tee. well the manager told me that they have already sold few tee's. And it is available at all Pantaloon stores.
One way it feels good that we are on a tee that too from pantaloons but then it hurts as well. Because if they wanted to use it then we would have been more delighted but printing the tee's and selling them at 599/- and not even telling us is something i do not approve of.
Well will be checking with manager today or tomorrow and will see as what is the response he got from HQ.
Also need to confirm with the photographer about this.
Edit: Saw the Pantaloons website. the tee is there for online shopping as well

like everyone said, you don't have right over the pic unless you paid the photographer to take that.
also listen to what Bunny says.
Wow!!! do they telephone number giving cows in UK?Originally posted by pulsater View PostNow, where is my telephone dairy?
p.s.: the pic is good but I didn't like the tee, they could've used better pics

Thanks for that piece of info!Originally posted by Wheel_Spin View Post
@Praful: An absence of watermark does not make any pic public domain. The copyright remains with the original artist/photographer & and you can ask the channel to stop using it. Only you can issue the right of use to any media outlet for the use of your work for commercial purposes. I hope that clears it up.
Lets see, I need to get a screenshot of that scene from the TV programme first._________________________

to file a suit or atleast sending a notice can be done.
esp when there are examples of bigger organisations throwing their weight around.
( tata suing the site oktatabyebye.com and
Football Association of England sending notices to blogging sites asking them to refrain from using club crests. )
but unfortunately in india law takes a slow course.
@pulsater : my best wishes to u in getting this issue resolved to the best of your satisfaction.
