To measure the wheel perimeter, there are 2 ways,
First ride the bike check the air pressure to what u normally use. Bring the tyre pressure to your normal riding condition (maybe ride for some kms to make it your actual conditions, i.e if you want it to be really really accurate
)
1. Take a thread and wrap around the rolling surface of the tyre, meausre the length of the thread.
2. Put a mark with chalk on the road & tyre, where the tyre & road meets, move the bike with you on it till the chalk mark on the tyre completes on rotation and mark that point. Measure the distance between the two points on the road

hi all I have imported all my cyclometers.
1) BC1600 1300/- from UK, ordered online from sigmasport.co.uk to a UK address
2) CatEye Mity 8 - 27$ 1200/-(1$ @ Rs44) REI, Troy, Michigan, USA
3) CatEye Enduro 8 - 30$ Rs 1300/- REI, Troy, Michigan, USA
Enduro 8 is same as Mity 8 difference is that the wires are heavy duty
BC1600 costs 28$ (Rs.1250/-)at that shop
It would be cheapest to get some one who is coming from USA or UK to buy it for you.
The indian distributor will charge a premium as he has no competition and the demand is high

Hi all,
I tested out the Mity 8 and set the perimeter to its maximum - 300cm, recorded a 154kph. The tech sheets have shown that its max is 105kph. I was afraid that it would be useless for my bike. I will have to check with my sigma if the results are same in both.
I have put my circumference as 190cms
Limitations compared with my Sigma BC1600 are
1) Tyre circumference is entered in centimeters for CatEye mity 8
while Sigma has in millimeters, which means better precision +/- 1kph
2) the removal mechanism of the console is harder in the mity 8
3) One hand operations are not possible on the Cateye because it has
only 2 buttons and some require to press both buttons (e.g resetting
the trip distance meter). Whereas all the operations on BC1600 with
its 3 buttons enable single hand operations.
5) Larger display for the Cat Eye.
6) More features for the Cat Eye, e.g you can make the Average speed,
Max Speed, Ride Time in the bigger size and make current speed to the
lower part.
7) The reset switch in Cat Eye is a small button on the rear, and can
be more easily pressed than the Sigma, where you have to use a pointed
object.
8) both dont have back lighting for the LCD
Update: In usability and ease of installation, I rate the BC1600 the best.
