Wattage is not exactly a problem here, size is. Take look at notebook speakers.

No these speakers do not have a separate Woofers, nor you can connect them, but should be enough.

And both of them have Volume Controls on the Speakers, which can be routed to a separate panel somewhere on handle bars. I would advice you to get a demo of best possible notebook speakers which have 3.5mm Stereo Jack, and then choose.

... that is, unless you plan to park your bike somewhere and listen to your tracks play while being in the close vicinity.

2.0 speakers, Computers Peripherals, Consumer Electronics items at low prices on eBay India

here are tons of 2.0 speakers available in india are quite cheap too.avoid usb speakers, analog is the way to go in this case.

open the spekers and place them on front visor.

It was just a small experiment and gosh result is awsome..!! Fitted 2 small speakers of head phones which were broken.
                      1) i have fitter 2 speakers in such a way that we can concentrate on traffic properly as well as able to hear even low horns simultaneously can enjoy music.
                      2) No problem of ear phones which creates irritaion after certain span of continuous listening besied its a velvet padding which is indeed more comfortable.
                      3) The speaker cord can be hidden inside the paddings of helmet when not in use.
                      5) Attached my nokia N81's remote cord so that i can even pick up the calls and control volume, change tracks without any problem. pics are as under. suggestions and comments will be highly appreciated

No wireing can be seen, all are done internally by me

                      speaker left side

                      speaker right side

the complet setup u can also use i-pod and other plyers as a substitute

the remote control cord through which i can make canges in volume, pic up calls, change tracks, stop music etc

That looks good Varun. You might want to add a small toggle switch to the wire so as to turn OFF/ON supply to the speaker whenever required. How big is that speaker anyway, and what kind of volume do you get from it? Looking at the size, I am not sure if the small amount of power from your cellphone's Audio output is driving it well... but then again, you're the best person to answer it and I'll take your word for it.

See buddy that was my sony head phones, model i dont remember but it produces great sound with i-pod or phone, same set up is inside the helmet with excellnt fiting, and i hav adjusted it inside the padding in such a way that even with full volume you can easily hear horns blowing and can concentrate.
And regardin your volume ques, currently i am using my phone but soon i will buy i- pod shuffl which is just a small piece you can plug on your shirts coller and can easily contro volume and tracks, you can also use a cord with remote attached which is the cheap substitute.
Trust me its the best setup, nothing can be safe and easy then this.
You can pm me for any sort of queries.

That's good to know Varun. Somehow I misjudged the size to be bigger (from the pics... somehow thought it's atleast 3 inches in diameter. I guess that's coz you've got some good macro pics there).

The setup seems good from what you've described of it. Nice going there. I guess the only thing lacking a bit in the sound would be Bass since the earphones aren't placed inside your ears; but then again, putting earphones inside your ears would in turn attempt to defeat the purpose of driving safe in traffic.
