free flow filters should be avaliable in bombay.try upping jet size by 5 nos ex.from 95 skip to 100.remember to read the plug after each jet swap.look at colour of plug, carbon deposits etc.and try riding hard in each swap.use a combo which gives best power delivery.

            hi folks
i am planning to shift to an rx carb......VM 26 that is..........
as far as going for bigger jets are concerned i dont think they will help on a stock pulsar carb.........neways jetting is a major hassle on a CV carb......cos the slide is not in ur control........
free flow filter and a well designed exhhaust will surely help.....
shady can u describe in a lil detail as to what u hav done???

Hey rash, is it true that the airscrew is useless after 1/4th throttle open? What's with the rx carb?

It would be a simple matter to re-jet your carb except for the fact that your carb is a CV type. Constant velocity carbs are great for OEM because emissions are minimized. CV carbs are not very useful for high performance applications. They are difficult to tune at best and non-workable depending on your motor. The basic problem with CV carbs is how it works. Airflow, vacuum, determines slide position. The interaction of the slide spring, slide air holes, diaphram, and butterfly valves can be very delicate. Re-jetting CV carbs is very time consuming.

                  hi rohit
yes the air screw is almost useless after 1/4 throttle............it does suck fuel all the time..but when the main circuit takes over the pilot circuit is almost insignificant
but in a CV carb u cannot tune it using the 1/4 ,1/2 full throttle system
cos the fuel flow isnt in ur hands........
an RX carb has a 26mm venturi ..same as the CV i am running...but since there is no throttle plate ...the restriction is very less ....
an RX carb will flow almost 50% more air than a 26 mm cv..also the throttle response is good..CV 's hav a certain lag bet ween when u open the throttle and when the slide goes up....other than this the RX carb will be much easier to tweak......

that's right,a similar sized slide carb flows more and is better performer when u whack the throttel.or u can try boring it to 27 mm.also close the 2t inlet.and u will prob.need to look at jets.do give the rx pilot and main size.also look in air jet too.best of luck.

rajnish if u know can u tell me the specs of the RX100,RXG and RX135 5speed carb......i am guessing they run the same size carbi.e VM 26..even though the workshop here knows no **** about it...
if possible tell the prices for the japan made mikuni's .....not the UCAL or the MIKARB ones.....

                          noob alert!

hey! you guys seem to have a good thing going, I cant help but feel i might be intruding. Going by your expertise from what i've been reading, i guess this is the best place for my query. i have a 2008 Bajaj P200, clocked in a good 20k kms (odo gave up at 13k!), Ive been planning to upjet for a while now, but I'm posted at the Assam-Arunachal Border, things are kinda hard here! I read somewhere that an Avenger's jets are the ideal upgrade but i got a strange stare when i asked the parts store guy here! Now that the P220 is no longer Fi, i was wondering if it would be a good idea to plonk in the P220's much larger carb in place of the stock carb? Any ideas how much it would cost me?! I've managed to find an accessory/mod shop in Arunachal who can source me a K&N RC1100. Any guys from Arunachal here by any chance?! I've noticed a few more niggles i need to sort out, i hope u guys will be able to help me out a little!
