    1. Way back in 1997, I'd Max100 & those were my proud moments of owning a bike, just after college, a good job & a bike. So one day I was coming as usual from the office on the usual road which is not a main road. There was a boy in teens standing almost in the midde of the road. He stared at me, my bike & he stood still & never bothered to move. My blood boiled thinking how dares he block my way? I went straight & hit him with my bike & only when falling down did I realize that when you hit someone with a bike you'll also fall down!!! Now the usual scene happened, everyone came rushing up & were asking what happened & my hands were trembling. So someone asked me "What happened sir" & I couldn't speak due to fear. Someone in the crowd replied, "sir was coming OK, the boy jumped in between". I leave the next scenes to you imagination. However I came home with a broken headlights

    2. Just a month back, I was waiting in the right most lane to take a right in my car along with my Son. When ensured I'm not disrupting the traffic, I started moving my car & boom from somewhere a Pulsar jumped in & rammed on to my left tyre, his bike on the front bumper & he fell down. I parked my car to the adjourning footpath, switched off the car, left my son in & kept the glass half opened. Meanwhile this biker gets up & comes to me charging up & tells me that I haven't seen the bike coming & I was careless & he was coming only in 40. I calmly tell him that I'm calling the cops & let them decide what happened; picked up my cell phone & called. Here's the conversation...

    Me: Good evening sir
    Other side(Os): Tell me da
Me: Sir, are you around Anna Nagar or outside
Os: I'm in Salem, tell me da
Me: Yes, sir, some problem around, can you come down here?
Os: Hey, I'm in Salem man, how can I come to Chennai
Me: Yes, sir at Anna Nagar 13th main road
Os: Hey man, I'm your friend Ramesh
    Me: Yes sir, I know
Os: Did you call me by mistake?
    Me: No sir
Os: Then what do you want?
Me: Ok, sir, pls come, we will be waiting
    Os: Are you all right?
Me: Yes sir, the bike number is TN....
Os: I didn't understand. What's going on? What is that bike number?
Me: Ok sir. Thanks & phone call disconnected.

Now I tell this biker that we wait here & the CI is coming. Now this guy is terrified & says, "you're all big shots & can do whatever you want. Pls let me go sir, I agree its my mistake". After 20 more minutes, I left home with Rs 380 & a week later the entire money was donated to a temple.

Hahaha lolz u HIT him ? hehe anyways good you feel that day...else u wud have hit the next person standing in ur way

My Life is fully changed and the incident is still fresh in my mind. I lost a special Friend of mine forever.....His name was Ayush.

His Bike was RTR 160 (w/ Rear Disc) Only 2 months old

It was 30-October-2009...at evening he had to go to a B'Day party of a classmate..
After coaching we had little bit of fun but never realized that it was the last day I am enjoying with my buddy.

Soon I left for home and gave my bike to my one more Close Friend to hit the party.

Both of them Went to Party and reached there safely.
Ayush got a phone call that one of his friend who don't know where the party is waiting on that State Highway at some restaurant.
Ayush Left with a pillion to guide the third friend in the story.

      but......
      But he never Reached there......

Waiting friend tried his phone as it was only 5 minutes ride far and it was 15 minutes till now..
And by luck his Mobile phone was still active, A Villager attended the call and told him that he met with an accident.

50% of what happened is still not known..pillion escaped with a little injury and recovered in 4 days.

Ayush was Unconscious. He was shifted to Indore (about 150kms) on the worst Roads of MP..

got into the finest Hospital of the city...the CHL..in ICU for about 7 days....and on the 7th day...the thing happened which I never expected to....

That night my friend with my bike phoned me....i didn't heard what he sad..but when he came to my house and said what happened...I was fully shocked.....we both went to the Civil Hospital where both of them were admitted at first. Pillion was shifted to a local private hospital and Ayush to Indore.

His father was a Railway Guard and was on his job. When he got the news he got directly to Indore. My father also went there. So Only I was left here.
Next Day I went to the Accidental Spot as Only I was here to tackle with Police and All. First went to Police Station and then again to Spot. Lifted his Bike which was about 15 meters far off the road corner. The front was fully meshed up. The Fuel tank was bumped with his lower jaw(Yes..!!! He was without helmet..). Fuel tank and the Parts of DigiMeter Remained were full of Blood and Brake Oil leaked. You might have Imagine the Impact. We came to know by villagers that he was at 90+ and suddenly a vehicle at that banked tight corner came in front of him. He Skipped him but got offroad and road was at 1Meter height. A big Rock came in front of Him and he squeezed that bloody front brake lever and Believe it or not He was in Air and Rolled about 3 times in Air with the Bike..!! And his head smashed into the Fuel Tank about 2-3 times and that was the thing which snatched him.

He came again to his home unfortunately without life..

Now, Its hard to imagine what if feels for his parents to lost a child who have not even hit 20.

You know what his mother said to his breathless body..??
"Kya tune ek bhi baar ye nahi socha ki teri maa tera ghar par intezaar kar rahi he...???"
(Means: "Haven't you thought even once before overspeeding that your mother is waiting for you at home....???")

Please xBhpians...always wear your lids..And before leaving on your wheels..remember that someone(Your sister, father, mother or Friends) are waiting for you...!!

He was the only son of his Father.
      Now they are alone.
His father now is under financial and economical breakdown due to fees of the hospitals and all.....He moreover lost his only son...

I dont know why God does bad to good people....
Ayush never pleased to his Father to buy him RTR but His father wanted his son to have the best.
He bought him RTR that too with Rear Disc and Premium Colour(i.e. Yellow...You need to pay 1000 bucks more for it). But not even he had ever imagined that The Dreams he weaved for His son are shattered forever....

That was the day I also Saw my Father Cry for the First Time...

From Then Before doing any non-sense Act..I think more than twice for It.
I would be adding his damaged bike photo which someone Snapped at Police Station.

      Rest In Peace Ayush...

      Edit:

Sad to hear about your friend man....

      RIP Ayush...

Respect the nature and it will respect you back.....

      Cheers!!!!

It was back in June 09. Me & my friends went for a road trip on our bikes. It was day two in the morning. We headed of from the hotel & going towards MM Hills. Its Small single track SH. We were four riders & i was the last one behind them. We started to notice a Truck coming & it a bend turn. My other friends timing was right & they crossed but when i about to enter the corner, i could not judge the bend limit has the truck was blocking my view. I thought it was a normal curve because while going we did not find any tight bends. Has the truck went past me it was too late. It was a monster 80 degree curve. I was doing 80+ at that time, tried to get back on road was not able to because gravel & stones. I fighting hard to stay on the bike couldn't do so. Hit a big rock & flew & rolled on the stones for 5-6 times. Thanks that day i was wearing lid, jacket & a back pack bag which saved me from some serious injuries. When i got up i see my friends have gone. Handle bar bent, right side tank(fibre) was broke, front mudgard, reflector. Then i tried calling my friends it was coming not reachable after 10 to 15 mins i got the line. I told them i had fell done. Two of my friends rushed back( Ravi & Ravindra) other one was lazy. They asked me are you hurt, i replied a little. But i almost cried looking at my bike in that condition because it was a new bike hardly done 2000 kms that time. But still we managed to fix the handle bar ourselfs by pulling each side. While coming back everybody was looking at me what has happened. I felt little embarresd but realised a hard lesson learnt. From that day i really take extra care while riding in Highways or in cities. You will never know what will hit you. It only takes a second ot two happen.

        SAFE RIDING.

Have written this before, so not describing much; still I have to speak in this thread because I went thru a C change in attitude.

          2005, '99 RX135 4s.
I was an overspeeding youngster, who dint even like a few brands/models on the road. Whenever they came around, I would chase them down, overtake and slowdown. When they go around me, I would chase again, overtake -- some kind of insanity.
Have even tried to race with a Porsche speeding over in ECR.
Met with an accident when I was going in 60 kph, taking a curve, and an M80 was dutifully jumping on to the road in the wrongside. Fell down to my right side, skid along a few metres, and narrowly escaped a few cars passing by. I have scars on my upper arm, elbow, side of the knees and right palm. Dint have any fracture, but had real bad scratches. The pain of dressing it up every morning, the pain of limping on stairs, and the difficulty I had in everything from lighting up a cigarette to wearing my trousers made me realise.
What am I speeding for ?? The thrill is simply not worth the risk.

Never ridden any bike madly after that. Now I ride a Std 350, and rarely go above 70. My city speed is a strict 60kph, and nobody can tease me into a traffic signal grand prix.

            Close shave with death

            Hey biker friends,
I would like to share a incident with you. I n my other frnds had planned a trip. The road to the destination was a very good highway, so while going i was all excited to go for high speed. I touched 145km/h n i was really over whelmed to do it.

While coming back i wanted to cross the 145, I was ripping my bike. The highway was empty n i was in the fast lane i was just waiting to go beyond 145.

At one place i was at 143 n suddenly i saw a person on the extreme left of the road....i did not slow down coz he was just waiting there on the road side....but suddenly he got his bike in motion n without looking behind he turned n tried to get his bike off the divider in the fast lane.... tried applying brakes but my bike was at high speed......i tried to shift down gears but still my bike was not gettin slower.....i applied both the discs....but accidents happen in few seconds of time....finally i pulled the front disc hard....my bike ended up in a rolling stoppie at 100km/h n i crashed into that person.....

I was thrown off the bike n i landed my head on the stone blockings on the side of the highway.....luckily i was wearing my helmet.....the impact of the stone was so hard that it cracked the shell of my helmet.....but Thank God my head was saved.....i had no major injuries but had few paining bones every time i moved.....

I remember the sleepless nights i had in pain.....now i have recovered from the pain.....bike has been claimed a insurance of 40,000rs.....

i learnt that its better to reach home late rather than never reach there....

i think that things happen for us to learn from them.....

I request all my biker friends to ride safe.....it feels really bad to have a paining body n a crashed bike.....

Some one is waiting for us to reach home safely n our few mins fun can end up making them cry forever...

            ride safe
            god bless

I'm really sorry, I dont want to bring up bad memories, but one incident that really changed my life was when I learnt about Kriss's demise.

The entire day was spent just staring blankly without seeing, and absent-mindedly doing things, nothing felt right...

It really made me wonder what makes somebody deserving or undeserving?
              You get the point?? :D

Bro really sorry for what happened to you. Are you alright.

Almost same things happened to me....a drunk person suddenly comes into the fast lane of a highway with a excuse he wanted to break the divider because it saves 1km of crossing.

                    Hope you r alright.

Re: Accidents that changed your outlook towards life ?

This is a daily story for me at the ill fated JNTU junction in Hyderabad.

We have two U turns before and after the junction and Flying Monkeys all over the place. The only purpose of the signal at the junction is for Ped Xing. I understand there are certain idiots on wheels who do not respect this signal. But atleast they stop at the signal before taking off.

But the pedestrians never wait for their 'GREEN' before running across the road. Keep in mind that this road in question is actually the Bombay highway.

There were two girls that had come running on to the road. Trying to swerve, the Swift Dezire taxi in front braked hard narrowly missing them. It took all my experience to stop the vehicle from barely hitting the Dezire. The tire might have just pushed onto his bumper.

But the DCM from behind unfortunately couldn't stop so well and rear-ended me. It was not a violent hit, but my rear end was goner and the front end was a goner. The forks were bent, the disc brake was bent and myself was on the side of the road with minor scrapes on the elbow.

It was a terrible experience staring at the blue sky and the bumper of a DCM while laying flat on the main road.

My poor ol' pulsar of 10 years was no more (2004, round headlight, pre DTSI)... considering the value of the bike and the repairs it needed. As often as most of us ignore; the bike insurance was not valid.

The unfortunate thing is that none of the vehicles in question were at fault. But we all paid the price. The Swift Dezire was a new taxi still with T/R and hence wouldn't be able to claim insurance. The DCM ... no telling. The two silly stupid girls were no where in sight.

And me ... left with one bike short and infinite hatred in my heart for the flying monkeys. I was the guy who used to stop letting and something asking the Peds to cross. I always waited at signals and kept to lanes (filtering is allowed). Am I still that guy ... maybe not. I still follow the rules. Am I the angry biker ... yes maybe. Since then my FZ has the Roots Windtone and the peds get the full treatment and maybe the finger as well if they cross my path.

I believe that we need laws protecting motorists from peds as well. Its not always that the motorist is at fault....but i can bet 95% of the time it will be the motorist that is blamed. Jay walking is an offence in the US (not sure about EU,AU,UK) ... it should be made here as well. They should be held responsible for the damage they cause.
When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.
