Here's my cornoring pic. This was taken in Anathagiri hills g2g in apr by ravi@17bhp.
I know am not leaning the way i should....but this was before i got know imp things in cornoring. after this i never got a chance to use wat i have learnt from this thread.
Hmmm.......time to find some decent ghat section around hyd

on sumit's zma...his front mag was a bit bend from the saddlesore. This was hell scary for me.


Now if u look at all the pic you would have noticed me looking at the road in front say 5-10 feet instead of looking far away from it.....i hve this bad habit.
Could anyone give me some tips to knock this habit off

make yourself look about 25-30 mtrs ahead . all the time . no 2 ways around it . practise when your are riding in a straight line as well and your soon form the new habit. also turn your whole head and neck to where you want to look not just your eyes. that helps a lot as welll

Well, Praful and Satish one piece of suggestion i can give is that.....for high speed of corenering....you both will have to make yourself lean rather than leaning the bike.....!!
The after effects of this is that if you lean yourself then the bike automatically turns/leans towards that side...!!
For a perfect lean of the body....just slightly tilt your bum[
]...outside the bike....and then move your knee outside a bit(towards the road......dont exactly start scrapping the knee ... just try to get used to this kind of lean of the body
)
Well, i have experienced the same above points and found the results to be positive...!!

Well, i have never been to tracks but from my usual "semi-aggressive" ways of tackling the corners i can tell that while tackling a corner you can tilt your body to the max but the tilt depends on how fast you are entering the corners.On-track one has to follow the S-I-F-O(Slow-in-fast-Out) theory but even if those slow-speeds on track are way faster than what we achieve on public roads.
A caution:Never try the butt-hanging movements where you expect traffic, it would lead to serious consequences because that body position takes time to correct any errors(read: incoming traffic).I hope you got the point!!

You are actually not doing too bad if u look at those pics.... pic 1 & 2 you are just on the wrong racing line.... hence ur entry and exit is slow...apart from that u need to put ur body weight out a little more helping the bike steer faster.The picture might look awkward coz you are not putting ur knee out... apart fron this there isnt much of a mistake that ur making... after correcting that you just have to correct ur entry and exit points and be a little more aggressive to cut down the timing....iirc in the outing above u did cut down 10 secs on ur old time...Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostHELP!

I could'nt get my knee out coz of the tight jeans
, and bang on about the entry and exit point, really need to work on that till I can get it like clock work!
Btw, I think I may have cut a lil bit more time, coz I remember not being timed on a session that I was really fast...
And Man the RTR ROCKS!!!!

dont worry about the knee mate. thats just a guide how much you are leaned over. its just another distraction. fun while you are doing it but thats about it. the last photo is probably the best one
next time try push yourself all the way back on the seat and try to crouch down more towards the tank. lead with your inside elbow and try and get your head to the inside mirror. dont overdo it though . just make sure your arm and elbow is at 90 degrees so you can put all the force into pusing and pulling the handlebars and not pushing down on it.
make sure the balls of your feet are on the pegs and load your pegs up so your body weight is on your legs. at the end of the day your legs should be sore not your upper body. hook your outside leg into the tank when going into the corner and try and press the bike down with it.do this with countersteering at the same time and you will be amazed at how light it will feel and just fall into the corner

hey . another thing i picked is you need to look further far ahead. i can se your eyes looking but if you turn your whole head it makes it a lot easier. the further ahead you look the slower things come at youOriginally posted by prafultripathy View Post^^ Man, that was informative!

IMO: the more you think during cornering, chances are more that you will goof up. Just try to go with the track flow...To conquer fear, you must become fear!
