Hmm.. but people on other forums claim of Japan made RXK/135 BlocksOriginally posted by bluevolt View PostYet to see a CBX1000 - should be rare to come across one though.
Depends - if you are talking about RX100/135/350, you'd draw a blank, but models like Honda NSR, then yes, there are shops which might stock spares. (not OEM, but replacement parts made by other independent companies)
Heck even saw a picture of one..not old, but new

I don't have a point of view on that... the shops here only keep spares for the old bikes (Katana, Zephyr, NSR) which people ride around here. Either those parts are made by independent Japanese manufacturers for exporting to countries where models like RX100/135 were sold, or they come from a supplier who has back stock of old parts.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostHmm.. but people on other forums claim of Japan made RXK/135 Blocks

In all my years of visiting Japan, I have NEVER come across a RX100 motorcycle or anything similar. Perhaps the names were different in Japan for that bike, since Yamaha RX100 in Japan is actually a 100 cc scooter.

they are called japanese made, because the castings used are japanese. I have done extensive investigation, but could not come to any conclusive difference between the malaysian and so called japanese blocks for the RX family, other than the japanese block can be oversized to 2mm, compared to 1mm for the malaysian block. So maybe you can say it has a thicker liner. Thats what i got from there. but its surely not from japan.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostHmm.. but people on other forums claim of Japan made RXK/135 Blocks

Hmm.. I was reading about this on RDD and hence got curious. Apparently its available in Singapore and any SE Asia Yamaha shops. Saw few pics too. Man, the piston quality is something even a noob like me can make out
OE Japanese PART NO. 4Y2-11311-00-This is apparently the part number of RXK barrel 'Japenese; make.
Sorry for OT. Perhaps this can be taken up in 'two srokes spare parts' thread.A lone amateur built the ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic...

More pictures!
Today was an unexpectedly 'no-rain' day so I made my way to Tokyo's CBD and then Yokohama, a port city for some general time pass. Got quite a few pictures today - and don't miss the Harley Davidson XR750 Flat track racing machine - this was the first time I saw a XR750 in flesh!
The HD XR750 - the real thing, not for lesser mortals!

Honda Hornet 250! An Inline four 250 cc engine!

Yamaha Majesty scooter! This thing has speakers too and dunno how many exhaust pipes it has - three?

Honda Zoomer rugged scooter. Very popular - it has a liquid cooled engine too.

The famed Honda CB400. Inline four engine.

Honda Forza scooters. Don't miss the speakers on the dash!

A Buell:

Some more stretch Limo scooters:

Yamaha Dragstar:

A Kawasaki W650. Suck retro styling is popular here too.

A Bandit 1200S with a Yoshi Exhaust:

Some other bikes and scooters:

See most of the bikes are treated with after-market exhaust. If the jap guy fly past a jap cop, he/she won't mind it. If we do our super bikes like this & fly past the cops, they will catch you or send you a memo to your home stating that "over noise pollution"
When are the cops gonna change ?
Bluevolt,
Any restriction for using after-market exhaust in Japan like India ?Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

The variety is Japan is awesome.Practically every type of styling is offered by the manufacturers - I personally feel that Japan is the place to be if you are into two wheels.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostKawasaki W650 is really cool
Thanks for posting it.
I never knew Kawasaki had such an interesting line-up.
yes, I like the Kawasaki W series too - cool retro chic!
I don't think so - every second guy has aftermarket pipes. Japan is pretty lenient on two wheelers when it comes to mods.Originally posted by ACE_HUNTER View PostSee most of the bikes are treated with after-market exhaust.
