+1. Ravi, you need to do this.

@abhimanyu, Thanks for the inputs. Going to consumer forum is the last option for me. If I feel it is expensive and time consuming, I would sell the bike and buy another one.

I really wonder if HMSI is working. No response even after I mailed to the CEO, Shanji Aoyma.

Seems the Customer Care of HMSI is a big joke (I hope they prove it wrong). Aryan, the title I gave to this thread is apt and you should not have edited.

precisely for this same reason i opted for bajaj.i had the 1st gen unicorn, and its silencer started rusting within 2 months of purchase. i showed it to the service people and they said they will replace it under warranty. they have ordered for the part and guess what it didnt arrive and at the 6th month i crashed and there were scratch marks on the silencer, due to which the service centre refused to replace it.wrote long letters to customer care but nothing happened.when my bike started giving trouble after an accident ,the service people were least bothered ,they would keep the bike for a whole day and returned it in evening without doing anything at all, complained to the service engineer and customer service but they are least bothered. couldnt see my bike in this sorry state and had to sell it.

shifted to Bajaj and iam very happy.need to complain to higher ups only once and the action was swift.and that was followed up by a call from the regional manager to enquire if iam satisfied with the steps taken.moreover you get VIP treatment at the service centre after the incident

TVS and Bajaj gives the customer a lot more respect than the so called japanese manufacturers who charges a premium on each and every product claiming reliability but when it comes to servicing and customer care they are least bothered. what is the use of paying a premium for such reliability if you have to run from pillar to post to get things sorted out. sue these people. file a complaint at the consumer court and let them recieve a notice and then lets see how they can ignore you. i believe filing a complaint for namesake can force them to expedite the action on your complaint

Some of what you said might be true but not all of it. I used to have troubles here and there with my Honda Shine and i had to go for warranty for my silencer. And it was quick and prompt. i got all done in about 3 days... And the reason it took 3 days is because i didn't want to drive 15 KM's to the bigger showroom to get the part. i had the same problem as you, rust. but mine got done fast and without probs. So in some cases i'm not sure but HMSI has been up to my expectations. Im not sure where you guys live but its good here in Vadodara. Also, maybe it might have been better because a relative of mine used to work there and they ALL know me but maybe it dont matter?? Who knows..

P.S. i used to get free washes with shining. hehe it was awesome lol

            Update

Finally, and at last, the crankshaft has arrived just now and I got a call from the JSP Honda technician. The assembling of the engine is going on now. Hopefully, I would get my bike tomorrow afternoon. Yuppie!!

Morning I got a call from warehouse manager, Mr. Vivek Agarwal. He explained why there has been a delay in dispatching the crankshaft. Seems the warehouse office has been moved from Noida to Gurgaon, and they are implement SAP for the spares division.

Yet, no response from Customer Care.

My only question, is how did the service guy figure out the faulty crank? Was there any noise or vibration from the engine? Ask him how did he figure out the issue? If he shows you the crank, ask him why did he open up the engine first of all, what were the symptoms that forced him to open up the engine. While giving it for servicing did you complain abt anything in the bike? I some how find the service center guy fishy, thoroughly test your bike and take it back, even if there is a some vibes or unusual sound from the engine, dont take the bike back.

There are lots of questions to be answered.

I have heard the instances of people at SVC replacing the genuine parts with old or duplicates, And these instances I heard were from the JSP honda itself that Ravi has complaints.

My friends unicorn's tuff-up tube was replaced by a normal one during servicing, he came to know about it only while a puncture repair.

I have complained about a different engine note when I gave for service and asked to check it. I have personally seen the old crank shaft and he said play is more and hence the different sound and I personally enquired with my local mechanic and he more or less confirmed the same.

Also, my bike's engine has not been opened till they got warranty approval from Honda. So, I do not think something is fishy here. According to catalogue, the crankshaft for Stunner FI and Stunner Carb are both same. Hence, the technician tried to fit the crankshaft of Stunner carb which was in stock with them. When he tried to fit the cam chain, he found the teeth for cam chain are different for Stunner FI and Stunner Carb.

The new crankshaft has been ordered fresh and they received today. I even got a call from the Warehouse manager, Vivek Aggarwal, this morning that the part has been dispatched and will reach in a day or two and he apologized for the delay.

So, I do not think, JSP Honda tried to change the parts. Of course, I will not accept the bike if I notice any vibrations are different sounds. I will ask the senior Honda engineer to come over here and check the bike.

Also, my bikes engine has been neatly packed in a carton box and kept separately till now. Hope everything will be fine.

Regional Honda Engineer, Mr. Sashikumar today visited the JSP Honda and inspected my bike and assured me that everything is fine with my bike. I am yet to ride the bike. Assembling of bike is finished and was ready for delivery, but as I have ordered a small modification for handle bar which needed some widening of holes which will be done tomorrow morning. Hopefully, this modification will relive handle bar from vibrating completely. If this is successful, it is a good news for all the stunner owners.

The JSP engineer will ride the bike for 15-20 km tomorrow morning and ensure everything is fine.

Mr. Sashikumar was apologetic and explained why the delay was and why CC has not responded in time. Seems there was lack of proper coordination between all the departments due to the shift of spares house and software and network upgradation. And, he agreed that I should have been informed of the situation well in time to avoid all this confusion.

Anyway, things are quite satisfactory for now as my requests were looked after, eventhough late.

I will get my bike tomorrow and update accordingly.

Hi, Got my bike back the next day of my above post.

The bike is very much fine now (it used to be same before too) and completed around 800 kms after it. Just yesterday went for a 240-km ride and I was very impressed with its handling and stability. Cornering is a breeze. Very good pick-up for a 125 cc engine. Between 70-80 speeds, it returned above 55 kmpl.

The handle bar vibrations were completely eliminated. Very minor vibrations at 70 kmph and after that vibrations completely vanished.

I wish Honda put the Unicorn engine in Stunner. It would sell like hot cakes.

As for the customer care of Honda, I never got any reply from Customer Caer, even after multiple mails. Thumbs down!

When I received my bike, everything is fine, except for the rear sprocket and the fuel. There is a perpendicular ring around the sprocket to prevent the chain loobe to enter the axle and it was deformed. I gave my bike with more than full tank (7L). They returned with just .5 liter. There is no answer for the fuel, but I am yet to get the new sprocket for the damaged one.

Learnt it the hard way. But, I was expecting this as the bike was there for 20 days. What I more feared was scratches all over the bike, and luckily, everything was fine. So, I forgot about the fuel. But, I will again remind the supervisor there regarding this when I go there to get the tappets adjusted soon.

Good to hear from you a nice piece of words for your bike. But, I am a lil'bit confused that, How did you managed to measure the exact fuel quantity, that there was only 5lits left. If such is the case, then, there is no need of fuel meter in your bike, as you are more accurate than it.
