Use engine braking very moderately. it helps u get shorter braking distances with confidence.
I agree to this. Engine braking adds to handling in panic situations. It helps to prevent rear tyre skidding at a great extent. From my riding experience, at the time of a high spee rear wheel lock up, both brakes will not help you if ABS is not there. ofcourse we may not have time for 3-4 gradual downshifts. But proper clutch releasing will give you confidence before you go zig-zag and crash even if 2 gears shifted down at once. Forget about sound that time. May be that could save you and your bike a few thousand bucks, even a life.

        Sorry for the necro-bump :P , but i have a question.

I am buying the RE TB350. How effective is the Motoman's break-in guide? and is it as safe as it says it is?

OK guys sorry to reopen this thread, I've been doing a lot of throttle blipping ,Someone told me it reduces stress on your sprockets, not sure how true, can someone shed some light?

Blipping the throttle before shifting down from higher to lower gear helps in matching the engine speed to that of optimum speed for the gear you want to downshift to. The result of blipping is that there is no awkward lashing or lag from the engine and the transmission chain as it does not needs time to rev up again after braking.
