buddy, the problem is with the carb. not the cdi!! you can do one thing, swpa your carb with another pulser, test the bike throughly. if the problem resurfaces, the cdi is faulty else its the carb. this will help you decide if the carb is at fault or not..
if your bike has run more than 50000 kms or more than 3 yrs, i am very sure that the problem is with the carb.. the carb assly will cost less than 2500. that too a 30 mm one.. i guess the one on the p150 is of a smaller size.. so it must be cheaper..
however, I would recomend to contact chinmay.. He might lend you a carb for testing purposes if he has one with him as spare..Suffering from Parked Motorcycle Syndrome

@ ROCKERZ: my bike has done around 68000 kms, normlly its hard to belive that carb can also be faulty, but now i have started o believe it. but can't we replace only the "slide" of carb, if that is the only faulty part.
@kb100: there is no knocking and both the plugs are fine.
@psr: i will try to check reed switch.
lets see........
can somebody elaborate by the help of pictures what exactly becomes faulty in carb.

Its the Black part which is connected to the Diaphgram and is like a cylinder moving inside the carb body.
That is what rubs and scores out with time and bad fuel.
Have not heard about a long term solution to it.
Replace the carb and try to sell ur exisiting one to some roadside mech for a bargain

guys i have changed the diaphram and slide of carb. there was scouring on the side of inner side of body where slide fits. now there is increased and better pick up, and the power delivery was smooth. i will do some high speed test runs and then post the results by wednusday.

Good luck to you and your efforts, and thanks for sharing the info.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postit didn't cost me much. my mechanic had a spare slide. he gave it to me for free. but he was saying that its cost is around RS 550.00/=. i got it for free. i m keeping my fingers crossed, till i test it completely.

guys i think the problem is solved now, as the power delivery is smooth throughout the range. i came to aamby valley from pune, today morning, though i couldn't test it completely because of bad weather, heavy cross winds, i only tried it till 100 kmph once and upto 90-95 kmph three four times, but till that point there was no problem at all. so i think the problem is pretty much solved now by replacing slide and diaphram only instead of entire carb. saved a couple of thousands.
