Getting Bike moved from Noida to Pune

Dio moved from KA(B'lore) to UP(Noida)
I've moved with my KA registered Dio from B'lore to Noida.
Had got NOC from B'lore after paying 1500 to a tout.
Paid my Road Tax in Noida (Rs.1600 ) along with Rs.400 as bribe.
The Noida RTO has issued me a temporary certificate for 3 months (valid till end of Feb 09 ) and held back my KA RC book.
I need to know how many more trips to the RTO will I have to make. One is for sure to collect the RC book as this temporary certificate expires. Will I have to pay more (bribe) to get the RC book back?
The officials also said that I can get the vehicle number changed only after 1 year of stay in Noida. They said its up to me to change it or not. Do I really need to?
If I someday decide to move back to B'lore, what would be the right thing to do? Register in Noida or not?
If I someday decide to sell it, which RTO would I need to approach?
And now that I've paid lifetime road tax in Noida, can I claim my road tax in B'lore?
Also the vehicle insurance will be expiring soon. Can I get it renewed with the temporary certificate?

This is the one reason I opted for a new bike in Pune.
If you have paid full road tax in Noida you can get a Refund from B'lore RTO. For rest catch hold a trustworthy tout or someone who has some relationship in RTO, without it life is a mess and they would keep making you run in circles.

coz none of the people i know here had moved their vehicles before, i had to explore it all on my own. also, the first tout i approached demanded 6500 for the job, so i decided to do it myself.Originally posted by Hyp3rion View PostThis is the one reason I opted for a new bike in Pune.

@jha.cavallino:- Dont change your number to UP 16(Delhi cops harass UP 16 numbers on Borders, and don't question any outstation vehicle, like MH BR or even KL reg vehicle), it will be more trouble than convenience, rather keep KA as cops are very lax here and secondly don't pay even a single penny in bribe in Noida RTO, here you can get your work done by yourself, just you have to give a day or two to get the work done, poeple who go through touts give bribes.
Whenever you are heading to Bangalore get the documents there and ask for refund(sorry I dont the work procedure of Bangalore RTO),
I will tell you once again, get all the work by yourself in Noida RTO, officials dont ask for bribe here.
EDIT: get a copy of RC and apply for insurance, don't ride without insurance here.

thanx buddy. anyways i was not planning to ride without insurance. never have. will get it done before it expires on dec 12th. as for the bribe, i had to pay up becoz one of the officials had blatantly refused to take rent agreement as my residence proof, he wanted my passport (which has MP address) or voter id (which again has MP address) .. maybe he wanted me to go to his tout.Originally posted by setuniket View Post@jha.cavallino:- Dont change your number to UP 16(Delhi cops harass UP 16 numbers on Borders, and don't question any outstation vehicle, like MH BR or even KL reg vehicle), it will be more trouble than convenience, rather keep KA as cops are very lax here and secondly don't pay even a single penny in bribe in Noida RTO, here you can get your work done by yourself, just you have to give a day or two to get the work done, poeple who go through touts give bribes.

after your suggestion, i decide not to change the reg. number. but if i have to sell off my dio someday, wihich RTO will I need to approach? bangy would be wayyy too far to go. n what if b'lore RTO asks for vehicle inspection when transferring it to another person, n what if they want the new owner to be present too??? in that case it'd be more xciting (and less xpensive and less tedious) to take the dio to the top of a cliff and throw it off the edge.

Buddy, keep the KA number. Its easier to drive in Delhi with a KA number then in Bangalore with a UP number. So if you have plans of moving back to bangalore in future don't get the number changed.Originally posted by jha.cavallino View PostI've moved with my KA registered Dio from B'lore to Noida.

If you want to sell the vehicle in Noida then definetly get the UP number as it will fetch you more second hand price. In second hand market its best to have the local number of the place where you are selling your vehicle to get maximum value.
You must be having a copy of your original RC book and your current policy. Contact any insurance agent with them and get it renewed before it expires. Before expiry they will not ask for any papers most probably but after the insurance expires they will require everything which will be a big headache. ( Have gone through the pain to get new insurance after expiry in Noida, therefore I suggest get it done before
)

In Pune.. if you are transfering your bike here, if your bike is less than 3 years old while you transfer, you have to pay an entry tax, which is a percentage of your original invoice value of your bike (and yea, you need the original invoice or quoted price on your first year's insurance policy) .. once you are done with that, then you go to the RTO for road tax and other stuff ..
I got my P180 here in less than 3 yrs.. I had the NOC from Bangalore, but after that I was told to do all fo the above..
If you plan to stay here for long, then get yourself a bike here..

I see that you have got the NOC and paid the one time tax.Originally posted by jha.cavallino View Postthanx buddy. anyways i was not planning to ride without insurance. never have. will get it done before it expires on dec 12th. as for the bribe, i had to pay up becoz one of the officials had blatantly refused to take rent agreement as my residence proof, he wanted my passport (which has MP address) or voter id (which again has MP address) .. maybe he wanted me to go to his tout.

Actually if you want to run a KA registered vehicle in UP,you have to have the Registration Number changed to a UP one after one year. The NOC entitles you to that. It's the official proceeding.
Once the number has been changed you can easily sell it off.sigpic

If at any point of time you intend to sell the bike, better get the vehicle registered at Noida itself, it will save you from lots of hassles.Originally posted by jha.cavallino View Postthanx buddy. anyways i was not planning to ride without insurance. never have. will get it done before it expires on dec 12th. as for the bribe, i had to pay up becoz one of the officials had blatantly refused to take rent agreement as my residence proof, he wanted my passport (which has MP address) or voter id (which again has MP address) .. maybe he wanted me to go to his tout.

Even throwing the vehicle off the cliff wont solve your problem
just make sure you have all documents whenever you enter/exit Delhi, I daily see UP 16 bikes/scooters being stopped and harassed at the border while I ride ride off peacefully from the border, that's the reason I bought my bike on my friends address in Delhi so that I am not troubled while going/coming from Delhi.
NOC is just a clarification that there is no dues on this vehicle in the previous RTO, you don't need to have the states registration number to use the vehicle if you have paid the tax of the current state. There is no time limit to use a vehicle with registration number of different state.Originally posted by nightwing View PostI see that you have got the NOC and paid the one time tax.

I can't even do that with my P180 Classic as I care too much for the Classic to do something like that. As much as I would like to sell her, but just because it is an outstation registered motorcycle, I can't. As of now, she stands - parked besides my P-200 each night, probably hoping hopelessly against hopes..
P.S:
Hence, it's always better go get the vehicle registered, would save you hassles if you want to sell it off here.:)

In any case,it's better to have the registration number of the state you are going to ride in if you don't want to be picked by the police on every corner.Originally posted by setuniket View PostIf at any point of time you intend to sell the bike, better get the vehicle registered at Noida itself, it will save you from lots of hassles.

Thanx for all the info you guys. I'm thinking of staying with KA number plate for now. Anyways the RTO wont give me a UP number before 1 year has passed.
If and when I decide to sell it, and I'm still in Noida at that time, I'll get a new number first and then sell. Hope this new number process doesnt take much time.
Will call upon you again if I have any more questions
