    Need Help on RTR

    Hi All,

    Currently i am owing an Apache 16 rtr, prior to that i used Avenger 180 & P 150. It looks me both the former bikes are better than this rtr. This is by taking an eye on braking system only; when i apply brakes in rtr, thr bike never stopes as per the brakes applied even at a lower speed, it sometimes gets slipped which i have never noticed in the bikes used earlier.
    As per my understanding, rtr rear tyre may be a problem or there is something else which is creating the said problem. If rear tyre is the problem then what tyre to use. It looks me P180 rear tyre the best rear tyre.
    Can any Apache owner let me know whether he/she is facing the same problem or i am the only one who is struggling with this.

    need you feedback on the below two queries exrtacted form the above quote.
    1. What rear tyre to use?
    2. Can any Apache owner share his/her experience regarding braking system of rtr.

      I too have a problem with braking in my 180, i think its because of the "AWESOME" TVS tyres. I avoid braking in wet n dirt surfaces because it is very unstable, sometimes even at low speeds!! Wanted to change my tyres to Pirelli or Michelin, but havent, waiting for the stock tyres to wear a bit . Maybe somebody who has changed can comment.
      I hope TVS guys see this n give us better tyres

        Even i had this sort problem when i had the TVS rear tire, but after that i changed to dunlop geocruisers and now i am running on IRC durotours 110 sections. Now the grip is fantastic with no tyre slippage or sudden locks. I think checking the rear brake pads will also solve the problem to some extent. May be they need replacement too

          Don't know why but this TVS tires are not reliable.
          even my friend is having same problem with his RTR 180, though its got tubeless.
          I feel MRF zapper is a better option.
          We wouldn't need a forum if we all had same opinions, same thoughts, and same bikes..... Enjoy the difference.

            Which brakes your RTR sport, at the rear ,Disc or drum type??If it is disc then chances are AIR has seeped into your brake line.And you will have to bleed the brakes for that.
            Pulsar180 tyre cannot be fitted on your RTR coz P180 has got 17" rim at the rear and RTR has 18".
            There are many options in 18".MRF zapperQ,Michelin M45,Pirelli Sport Demon,etc.

              That may be okay but question of getting the rear brake pad change does not arise. Since i have bought this bike just three months back nor i have had any accident on the bike which may be cause of the problem, so i don't think of change in anything.

                  Totally agreed. People of same segment; in terms of same bike & similar sort of problem can come to a common forum & can put the different-different things/problems/experience faced, so that anyone of us can be benificiary.

                      Gagan, TVS tires seem to be Achilles heels of the RTR.Most RTR owners have complained on the TVS tires skidding on wet surface and ,on dry condition also when hard braking is done.You may change to MRF Zapper C or Q suitable to your bike.Many owners have had good result with these tires. The Dunlop Geocruiser seem to be another better choice. Till you change,caution is the watch word.

                        I don't know if you guys have tried this but i suggest you lower the tyre pressure slightly. It will increase the contact patch & with it the friction between the tyre & the road.

                          hey people just wait & check out the new set of tyres from TVS..!!
                          they're better than the competitors in the segment..!!
                          they're even developing radial tyres..!!

                          the tyres are pretty good on dry roads though..!!
                          evn some of the honda owners wil have to complain if thats the case as the stunners are also using the same tyres as of our RTRs..!!

                            i don say that rtr tyre r d best in its class...
                            but not all tat bad...

                            Brakes r damm gud..my frnd took a new dazzler..n wen he drove my rtr..he was all priase 4 both rear n front brakes(both r disc)...

                            may b decreasin d tyre press will help..

                            n if its nt stopin at low speeds take 2 mechanic at ASC..shud help..

                            RTR is good....

                              Dear Gagan;
                              If you are facing so, something is wrong with your braking system. Cos RTR has the sharpest braking among bikes you mentioned (you can bring in many other bikes as well into this).

                              Check the brake fluid isn't leaking. If the seals need replacement, change them and check brake pads, check if disc is oily. Somehting is wrong somewhere. And if its rear disc and you are in habit of rear brake, that bike is not going to stop with rear brake.

                              Along with that, for tyres, consider the PSR sir's note.
