  • [Help Me]Check on new bike delivery

    Hello all,

I have booked Yamaha SZ R and this is my first bike, I am expected to get it next month.

I would like to know what needs to be checked while taking delivery of the bike.

What are the documents needed to be checked?
What physical checks to be done on the bike?

Please come with the things that I should check while taking delivery of the bike other than above 2.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers!

Thank you for the links. I have gone through the links, it pretty much covers everything.

How about documents? What documents I should get from showroom? What should I check in each document?

        Cheers!

What kind of petrol can be filled after I take the delivery? Like normal petrol or high performance petrol like speed or power?

Whatever you fill, ensure that you're getting it filled from a good & reputed fuel station without any short filling tricks.

for this i would say you go as per what the delivery guys tell you..
for instance it is told not to put any high performance fuel in pulsar 220. . just use the normal unleaded petrol.. !!
so go as per what your bike manual says.. or guys at the time of delivery says..!!

you require power fuel when your engine has compression ratio of 10:1 or above, if its nrmal 9:1 or so then use normal unleaded petrol, use of power fuel will jst burn your pocket,
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Power, speed... are petrols with additives and not high octane fuels right?
                    Speed
Power - Our Offerings - Retail(Petrol Pumps etc.) :: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited
what harm can they do to a new engine in any way?
I tried speed petrol on an empty tank and I feel the engine runs smoothly, def. not psychological feeling. Also for the same amount of money I get the same mileage with the advantage of free revving engine i.e Rs 100 normal petrol gave 98km and Rs 100 speed petrol gave me 97km.

You can find out the engine compression ratio in the manual or google it
The only thing standing in your way, the ONLY thing you can count on, at any given time.. Is YOU

Found it! I should have googled it first before asking :P

The bike is Yamaha SZ R and compression ratio 9.5:1, so which fuel is more suitable? Plain or high performance petrol?

Also what documents I need to check or receive from showroom while taking delivery of the bike?

The RC book will be given to me in 2 months, so till that time what document should I take from showroom which can act as RC Book?

Normal un-leaded fuel from a trusted pump would do.

                            Insurance, Bill, Owners Manual etc..

Bill given to you will do

^^^ Just a regular petrol from a REPUTED fuel station is suffice.

Also what documents I need to check or receive from showroom while taking delivery of the bike
                              Invoice copy or receipt of the purchase proof of the motorcycle; tax token; insurance copy; owner's manual; PUC sticker;

Until you get the RC book, have the purchase receipt & tax token handy
