DAMN, I GOT LATE...dude hp filters have a long time history of not cleaning the air properly b4 letting it enter the engine..n hence lots of engines hv suffered..k&n is the best in the business..well now that u have got an hp, try n keep away from dusty conditions, better if ur filter is installed in the air box...upjet for some difference in performance, tune if u dont want drop in mileage..iridium plugs do help support better combustion and spark stability and hence ride become smoother...but platinum tip is the best in the business if u got bucks...
If U haven't Seen GOD, U haven't gone fast enough

Dear sam, I am very much new for this forum but not new for bikes. I saw the pics of HP filter. High -Pass Filters, If I am not mistaking then those filters are china based. IF you look at the filter then they r giving only wire mesh. K&N has got special cotton with mesh. Check the details from K&N which I got it through mail.
The molecules which make up atmospheric air are too small to be separated or filtered by a K&N air filter. The filter is meant to separate dirt and dust particles which get suspended in the air, range in size from 5-120 microns (some larger, some smaller), and would cause premature wear, damage, or catastrophic failure to an internal combustion engine, if ingested. The largest of the molecules we are discussing are Carbon Dioxide (CO2)and Water (H2O). A CO2 molecule has an average width of 3.42 Angstrom, and an H2O molecule has an average width of 2.11 Angstrom. A CO2 particle measuring 3.42 Angstrom across is equivalent to 0.000342 microns, and an H2O particle would be 0.000211 microns. For comparison, ISO Test Dust, which we use to test our air filters, is made up of a distribution of different size particles, of which the smallest are 1-5 microns. Nitrogen molecules in the atmosphere are diatomic (N2) and have an average width of 2.20 Angstrom, or 0.000220 microns.

                      1. There is only one breather for air box, another pipe is for AIS system. AIS is for emission controling,so u can switch off the system by blocking it. AIS works on vaccum. So shut of the vaccum pipe.
                      2. Another pipe which is very much important is CRANK BREATHER. For crank breather you need to put another small air filter. Coz if u left it alone then the dust will show the effect. And laters you will have to open the engine. Piston always need breathing. So careful..... K&N gives filter cleaning kit but no cleaning kit for HP.

I hope other u have made other changes also after filter fitment.
I will send you a pic of that crank breather filter.

                        Seondary Filter For Crank Breather

Please check the link for secondary filter which I use for crank breather pipe. Get the proper size filter from the market I suggest don't leave that pipe open.

i suggest leave your stock filter in the same place it used to be..that way no dust enters the crank breather..and HP does its job too..

                            @ shubhanker

                            That sounds very sensible.
But I got the stock filter removed and had the k&n fixed in the air filter box in my P180 UGIII. SO its not directly on the carb.
Its already been a while, like 3000km and i find a lot of difference in engine feel. its become rough.
                            I have rejetted to a ZMA's main jet. i.e, from 117.5 to 125

I dont mean to say its gonna be a problem if its HP or K&N. Its all about the right mixture and the correct tuning..!!!
