    Voted for option 3.

Second gsferrari's opinion to the every letter written therein.

You will be seen as somebody trying to do some "side-business" to mitigate the risk of working in IT Seriously, people will not believe, much less understand passion for getting grease between 'nail and flesh'.

What you can probably do with your knowldege is (assuming there is no profit motive) buy->restore->use for sometime->sell<->buy. You can sample wide range of strokers this way.

my suggestion... youve already restored a beauty.. let her be.. Now get some junked out bike, and do all the mods and port jobs and customization that you would want to experiment with.. 100/90 kits, disc brakes whatever your heart says...

THis will keep you going, and let you enjoy everything else that is there to it... and you can go with it as your pocket allows etc..

My offerings to the gods of speed -

      - KTM Duke 200
      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

Ahh good for you guys but still dude it is a very unappreciated and messy job. I have already made a comment on the snide remarks and insults people come up with to mar your work to hide their shortcomings

Before the thread goes dead, let me take a break to Thank everyone of your once again & convey what I'm thinking...

First & foremost post that had a great influence on me was

But it doesn't mean, I'm taking a decision now. But, this is something that got me thinking. While all these posts are BANG TRUE, there's always a precautionary step that I exercise before commiting the work. I can provide a rough estimate (yeah, I'm getting there too ) with a variance factor.

          Next, to my motivators...

Ofcourse, with people like you, Ramesh, Kb100, I'm 50% confident that you guys are with me & I WILL be able to do things. Tks for your offer

Thanks for the encouragement. I know I can depend upon you for few parts. Its really motivating.

Quite true; not only with building motorcycles, but on everything. Like MGji's words (not MG Biker ), "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win", this is what happens with everything & I'm completely aware of it.

Well, its not that my family doesn't allow or permit, they're scared of something called "Neighbourhood", "Society", atleast, we're all bound to live within it. We live in a society where, we're supposed to behave like how we're expected to behave, otherwise we'll carry over several names & my family doesn't like me carrying one such name

Is it sir? And you know what? Sometime in 2001, I remember reading an article in a newspaper that Govt had a plan to forcefully buy out all the 2 strokes in India.

Now let's assume that's true, then what happens to all the vintage cars & motorcycles in this country? How could Govt ban them all over this country & to prove what to UN? IMO, they've stopped production of 2S, which has cut down the numbers to a large extent & in few years of time, even the parts will become rare. This is the maximum I expect.

Yeah, good point, but you see, I intent only to make losses with it. I buy a crap for, say 5K, restoration is 25K, but I can't get it selling for 30K. Besides, I don't like to have multiple bikes on same model. One bike one model is more than sufficient to me.

Hmmm...quite a new perspective JD. Now this means, I can pursue my higher education lol . Good thought, really nice thought.

I had merely warned you from what I had heard.....I did not want you to go through the pain of junking a fully, and painstakingly restored bike..
Read my last words of that post...
"If you want to satisfy your urge to do the restoration and get immense happiness, then go ahead...Selling it will not cover your cost involved...and remember ..the family will definitely reserve the dog house for you "

You seem to be pretty intent on going ahead with your passion. So, nobody can stop you. Go ahead, indulge yourself, you live just once !!! But just ensure you don't let go of your passion because of a few cynical remarks of certain "types" of individuals, who can be found in the thousands, if not millions.
All the best to you mate. Just make sure you keep updating every detail of every build you do..
