Sorry bro...kuch yaad dilao....Originally posted by Ajay78 View Post
White smoke means oil burning in combustion chamber. To reach there oil can leak pass either through piston rings or valves. If stem seals are leaking oil can reach combustion chamber through valvesOriginally posted by nirvaana View Post

When i joined xbhp i had recently purchased P220 and has lot of concerns/problems, you was the one who guided/helped me to overcome those issues, because of you only i still ride my bike and love it more then anything else. you can check my post "My pulsar is killing me".

Re: Engine Rebuid of Pulsar 150
[QUOTE=princesirohi;1044651]First, i will advise you not to post same query in two different threads.
Second, you can introduce yourself in the relevant thread.
now, coming to your problem, you have not mentioned the ODO reading of your bike.
So i am assuming that it has run 40-50,000 kms.
white smoke means it is burning oil, which ideally it shouldn't. this can happen either due to block piston problem or through leaking valves.
so check the following things-
- Condition of block & piston, if its too much worn out either replace or get it rebored. piston rings and oil rings will also be changed alongwith.
- stem seals might be leaking, get it checked, also check valves.
- for top speed problem, check your clutch plates and pressure plates.
you need to tell in detail, whether you have changed the regular wear and tear items regularly and done regular servicing and maintenance?
how is the condition of balancer gear and shaft? no - do I have to?? will it make my changing of gears more smoother also my clutch play is always hard as compared to a new bike?? is this the cause
chain sprocket? -yes once - will be changing it to the ones with 180cc set
timing chain? twice-but will get it change once again
bearings- wheels, chain sprocket, crankshaft etc?- none
:-(
SIr after doing all these will my bikes engine get a new lease of life?? also will it make my engine sound smoother(it rattles a lot)
will changing of my carb (BS29) will solve my engine heating problem????
-NOTE-Please pardon my ways of introduction and answering as I am new..will get rusted!!
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Thank you Ajay G.. for your recommendation!!will PM you

Anyways can you helpnme out with a similar query
I have a pulsar 150 classic
Done 80k kms
Slowly starting to loose compression, I suppose the rings arent what they usedto be, engine oil consumption is low, but during rains or winters the bike smokes for 10 to 15 seconds white smoke.
1000ml is what I pour in 950 to 960ml minimum drains out.
Have changed timing chain recently because sewing machine noise,
Clutch plates changed, tappets adjusted
Thats it!
Cqn I plonk on a p180 classic block piston? Have no intention to sell the bike.
What parts could be involved
Will I need the 180 head too? The bore is diffrent for both the bikes, stroke is same
divyansh....

Even if the stroke is same i think there will be some difference between the crankshaft, you might have to change the crankshaft also, mostly companies don't change the stroke of the engine as all of these road hooligans are short stroke or oversquare layout longer stroke engine needs more strengthened connecting rod and crank assembly as reciprocating mass is more, but still there can be somedifference between the crankshafts of both version as the latter one is making more power at crank, plus if the bore is different than definitely you have to change the head i think.

I talked to the dealer he said p150 and 180 classic have just 1 crank?Originally posted by kusmaker View PostEven if the stroke is same i think there will be some difference between the crankshaft, you might have to change the crankshaft also, mostly companies don't change the stroke of the engine as all of these road hooligans are short stroke or oversquare layout longer stroke engine needs more strengthened connecting rod and crank assembly as reciprocating mass is more, but still there can be somedifference between the crankshafts of both version as the latter one is making more power at crank, plus if the bore is different than definitely you have to change the head i think.
P150 and 180 dtsi have same crank (diffrent from ug4) ??
So many modles and ugs:banghead:
The dealers too have a nightmare
Anyone who has done a p150 ton180 conversion?

Version Version everywhere how to choose what to chose
, yours is the classic one na, so shouldn't be a problem than if the crank is same, and what about the head part.

Head design and size is same, valves are different:banghead:Originally posted by kusmaker View PostVersion Version everywhere how to choose what to chose

I dont know what to do, anyone whobhas done it?

Re: Engine Rebuid of Pulsar 150
I would say then choose the valves according to the head design, and just change the engine block,(if it's possible) and the necessary ancellories with it and how different is the carb in both version, is it same or slightly bigger in 180.Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostHead design and size is same, valves are different:banghead:

Re: Engine Rebuid of Pulsar 150
Hi,
I own a 2006 model 150 cc ug2 pulsar. I ride about 10km per day and occasionally 200kms. The engine oil level decreases rapidly. mechanic suggested change of cylinder kit. I want mileage so I think of purchasing new pulsar 150 cc cylinder kit. I need advice which model pulsar 150 cc will give best performance and a direct fit in ug2 pulsar. Also along with this which other parts should I change. Can I replace camshaft with a p220 camshaft for better performance/efficiency. Is it advisable to replace clutch parts. Any other parts that may require replacement while servicing the engine. Please advice. Thanks.
