Athul, From your description it seems more like an A350 rather than a Machismo.
Its got an AVL engine with the older 4 speed right side shifter gearbox. The AVLs are generally more fuel efficient than the cast iron engined counterparts. If this one is giving only 23kmpl there is definitely something wrong with it.
Moreover, not all Bullet mechs will work on AVL engined Bullets, so see to it that you can find a good mech before you buy one.

Hi athul.. machismo in good maintenance will easily return a mileage from 35 to 40kmpl.

Mileage loss..
It can be either something related to engine itself or something which is related to other parameters like carbs.. spark plug.. tuning.. tyre pressure(a very imp point.. but often neglected. )

lets first do a check. Before fixing the deal.. let a mechanic help you..

1. Tyre pressure to set F-26 to 27., R- 36 to 37.
2. Clutch to be fit.. worn out plates to be changed.. and please make sure clutch reservoir don't have excess oil.. which leads to plates slipage).
3. Clean spark plug ( The most important point) .... a clean nd healthy spark plug eases better spark.. which translates into better combustion nd better fuel efficiency... a dark, clogged nd oil stained spark plug is a strong sign of oil getting into combustion chamber.. nd please note.. that your engine needs an overhaul... it even emits white smoke at least at slightly high rpms...
4. Engine oil.. another important higher grade oil than the recommended grade leads to power loss and lower fuel efficiency even if they lowers the engine noices .
5. GEAR OIL... people again often neglects.. this is important for smoother shifts.. plus efficiency. . Over heated gear box signs bad lubrication.
6. Last but not at all least.. proper lubrication of external.parts. Chains.. wheel bearings.. axles....
Nd check the battery health..as well

Now coming to point 3. If the white smoke plus... badly clogged spark plugs nd black oil stained soot in the silencer pipe..,(check with finger running in the end of exhaust pipe.), learn that the oil getting burned in the chamber..
Open the head. Check for sideways play of the piston.. if its really bad. U need a complete overhaul..if not can mange with a rings change or even a higher re boring and new piston nd rings .


I know this looks a bit long nd confusing..
But I hope this helps.you..
