  • Need advice: Buying pulsar 150ug4

    hello all,
    i'm Parthiv from kolkata, 23yrs, 5ft10, 79kg.
    i'm going to buy a pulsar 150ug4 next wednesday(9th march 2011).
many of my friends an resources have asked me to check few things before taking the delivery, like:
    1.to check all digi-consoles
2.to check wheather the tyres provided are of MRF or not
3.to check if any disputed parts attached or not.
4.to double stand the bike and to rotate wheels manually- to check wheather wheels are working properly or not.

now, i want to know if there are any more areas to look for when buying the bike. by the way, this is my first bike (though i rode my elder brother's bikes since 10th grade) and will be used mostly for commuting type everyday (30km a weekday- max, n weekend short trips nearby).

    Suggestions please. ASAP...!

you can check the odometer reading, oil level etc.....and go for MRF zapper tyres only.

don't allow the mechanic/sales guy to start the bike. always keep the key with you.
Before starting the bike, check the oil level. Many dealership don't put enough oil in the engine. when asked about it, the sales guy/ mechanic say that, since the engine is runnng it has gone up, in the head.

get all the details filled in the manual..like owner's name, date of purchase etc.
most impotantly the details of battery. you need it for claiming warranty.

Check all the bulbs, horn, meters etc.

Check if the engine and chassis nos. aresame as that of on the bike and on papers.

most important is ride the bike between 50-70 kmph and leave the handle it should go in almost straight line without handle wobbling .
on 4 wheels u feel the speed after a crash, 2 wheelers are much more advanced

Check all the lights and digi console, horn. I f possible take a test ride and check for any weird noises . check oil level. check the body for any damage and most important check all the details like engine, chassis number and insurance. and then enjoy your ride!
