ya .. I saw your post earlier and I had decided to go for Michelin but getting Michelin in kolkata is like putting thread in needle. Nd frankly speaking I only get time during the sundays because currently I'm busy with my M.tech project and probably in june or julyt I will relocate to gurgaon or ahmedabad.

And is michelin available in 100/90/18 size coz when I enquired the dealer about the tyre they said M45 tubeless in 100/90/18 is out of production and tubeless 120/80/18 is there from Michelin Sirac.

Now give some idea about my situation. and please do reply what did you get about tyres today.(you are supposed to check right )

Regarding fishtailing: Its not doing so while braking but when there are two patches of tarmac joining together and I'm changing from one to another or if there is a up down in patch and i'm coming up from down. I hope I was able to make you understand the situation

Don't research too much while purchasing, else you will commit blunder

my suggestion regarding tyres is opposite......don't go for michelin unless u do fair amount of off roading because michelin tyres avaialble in india basically have big blocks kind of tread pattern, which is more suitable for off-roading or bad roads........if you mostly travel on road only .....go for pirelli ....as they really provide good wet grip.

ya i understood your problem.......regarding fishtailing.

sorry bro couldn't go to pirelli dealers today due to some work...............but i did called them on phone and they promised to get back in a few days about.....which tyres they can provide and rates...

Dunlop & Ceat, both are good options when compare to MRF.., if you remember dunlop geo cruiser tyres used as stock tyres on first generation of CBZ and CBZ* ,...looks like CEAT is a promising brand these days..try it out..and also all these tyres are hard compound tyres when we talk about soft compounds like Michelin and Pirelli..go for dunlop or ceat as per your need..

I have a new hunk which is 3 days old/100 kms. I thought of changing the oil and when I went to change the mechanic put gulf pride 4t engine oil 10w30. I'm bit confused whether the oil is correct for my bike , means is it good to put that oil right now at 100kms. I changed it early because somewhere in Xbhp it is recommended to change the initial oil at 100-120 Kms.

Kindly suggest me. Will this effect during my first servicing. If this oil is not good right now then kindly help me

            thanx in advance

So far as I know, the Gulf Pride 10W30 is a semi synthetic. So, please change the oil on urgent basis. Using the oil further may lead to improper seating of the piston rings. That may lead to further problems. Use HH oil only til at least 200 kms.

I had a hh Hunk for last one year(till 18500km on the odo), I used Motul 5100T 15W50 after 10000 km on the odo. Though the company recommendation is 10W30, I used 15W50 without any problem(I used the bike mainly for highway ride and that too at higher RPM), but I am not recommending this stuff for you since it is not recommended by HH itself.

I am now having HH Karizma - R, but still missing the comfort of Hunk, congratulation for a nice move.
            Move on.........

In Kolkata, in wellington square, the Michellin is avaiable @ Motor's and Cycles. Contact Deb @ 9339707229 and ask him about the avaiability.

                  a) stick to stock tyres for little more before your decide for a change . Tyres tend to take some 500 kilometers to settle when new .Your stock tyres may be very good by then .

                  b) as someone said ... filling ANY other oil instead of HH 10w30 will void your company warranty , at least on the engine . Oil change to 10w30 HH oil must be recorded in your service history as well as on your owners manual counterfoils ( last pages - service slips ) , at the mentioned kilometers/time for warranty conditions . In kolkata if you buy & fill the HH oil yourself , you have to do so from either the HH service or from HH authorised stockists for bengal - Bansal motors ( wellington square - near jyothi cinema hall ) and retain the cash memo in your service book . They will accept to this extent ( as per my verbal conversations with the service manager ) .... i.e purchased from Bansal motors .. filled yourself .. anything else = void engine warranty . Not only warranty , but insurance claims on the engine may also be affected by non-recommended engine oils , they told me , so be careful with this .

                  c) 15w50 is unsuitable grade for any HH bike IMHO , myself filling with 20w40 yamalube , tht's the max needed in summer , in winter 10w30 .

                  d) gulf 10w30 is claimed "synthetic blend" , better fill such SS/FS oils after 5000 kms at least , mineral oil is good for now IMHO again .

@ Papan .. "...there are two patches of tarmac joining together and I'm changing from one to another... " I felt this too with my stock HH (mrf) tyres when they were new , much better now @ 3000kms .. kind of nervousness or indecision in the wheels .. hmmm ... are you riding on the EM bypass btw ?

ya I do ride mainly in Em bypass, manicktala road, college street, adn jessore road. Tram line effects are the most dangerous thing I felt till now.
