  • LED Indicators

I'm working on LED indicators for my R15 and I'm stuck for moths on 1 thing. Separating the reflector part from the lens. I've had over 10 visits to SVC just to swim into the junk yard there and pick up used indicator lens. I've ruined over 4 indicator caps just trying to get rid of the reflector. All efforts in vain.. Tried keeping the indicator caps in the oven so that the gum used to stick the reflector to the cap gets soft but it still doesn't help. I've burnt caps doing this..

Please guys help me, how do I separate the reflector and the cap.

^^ Get a hot air gun. I know for a fact it works on the h/l assembly.

Any success on this? Was wondering if you've managed to make LED indicators.

Bought a heatgun and it helped.

correct me if i am wrong but i have two question...
1.the leds are very weak in power ,specially in compared with 10 watt bulb which was inside originally.yes we can plonk 1 watt leds ,10 of them infact which will look good but again it will consumption.
2.the flasher will not work if the load is very less, infact it will flash quickly and wear out.

I'm using a 555 timer to control the flashes. Bought some extra bright LED's gonna work on a friend's flasher with those and check the result

The led's consume very very less power but the flashes can be controlled by making a 555 timer circuit. Using which you can control the no. of flashes.

555 IC's output is 200mA only and it can't drive 20 or more LEDs right? do you have to use any amplifying n-p-n transistor or any other ckt?

You will need to make a driver circuit using transistor/MOSFET.

If you have done everything, out with the circuit diagram!

IMO, a 555 IC's output is enough to activate a standard 12V relay, which flashes the indicators... Janesh.J, an XBhpian made the circuit long back..
