  • Help Needed : Installing kick starter

Is it possible to have kick starter on a Honda dazzler?
My friend is having a dazzler because of its lack of kick starter and small battery we are scared of using aftermarket horns.
I need to know whether its possible to add a kick starter to the current setup? also if possible what would be the cost to do that.
So it would be great if someone shed some light on this one.
    Thanks in advance

I don't think its possible,Yamaha have the option for adding kick starters for their FZ's.

        Thanks for the reply
Just Yesterday only i talked with a guy from honda service station he told that as far as his knowledge the engines of unicorn and dazzler are more are less the same so it could be possible to do if the kicker shaft and the side case door and the kicker rod of a unicorn are fitted on a dazzler.

Can someone confirm this if possible?

You dont need a kick start! The batt, isnt going to fail just like that. There are tons of Kicker less bikes going around fine. You can use an aftermarket single horn, dont worry.

BTW,You always have the option to push start

Battery will not fail.. but the self motor in latest bikes are failing ... Kick start is needed for every bike.

Very true...and the customer should have the say, and it is always better to have a kicker...engine stopping at the signal with the entire traffic breathing down your neck, and with a bad battery/self motor ,hot Sun...and you have to push start the bike in the traffic ...You have to experience it to know what it feels.....Kick start option is a must in all bikes esp., in city traffic.

its your independent observation, the self is enough.
the setup is tried and tesTed.
no its not possible to fit kicker in dazzler as the decompressor is not present in dazzler,so NOT POSSIBLE

I too have the same doubt. What is the function of this decompressor? If im not wrong you are talking about the device on the camshaft right?

Not the same bike but same question.

Can a kick rod be fitted to Pulsar 180 UG4?

I tried to push start my bike (just to learn) and was not successful.

What if (IF) the starter motor (I know that I will have regular checks on the battery) fails someday and I am in between vehicles on a traffic signal and the signal turns green? I will not have another option but to push the bike (not push start) to side of the road with honking horns behind me and then wait for it's mercy to get started. What say?

Absolutely realistic and many of us have been through this embarassing situation at one time. Kick starter is a must for Indian environmental conditions. Too much hifi stuff's just doesnt click here. And given the average Indian biker's maintenance/care knowledge, self starter motor failure is a common feature. Atleast it should be an need based option that manufacturers should provide us with (like Yamaha).

So installing the kick rod is not possible?
Then I guess I have to learn push start.

Not possible in UG4 P180 . P180 too does not have decompresser mechanism , so when you do kick start , the return kick force will be higher ..! More over the engine case of P180 does not have provision for adding a kicker .
