The only thing i noticed is that.. clutch is ultra smooth.. and bike runs superbly.. are these the symptoms of CANCER..

If you want performance and smoothness then switch to some fully synthetic oil... That's all.

Hey.. Castrol GTX is not for bikes. Stop using it immediately, switch to Motul or other 15W50/20W50 oils available. If you continue using castrol gtx, you might end up damaging clutch plates, not sure if it damages the engine as a whole, but for sure will damage clutch plates. For technical details on why car engine oil shouldn't be used in bikes, google a bit or check wikipedia.

        Interesting .
Castrol GTX does not have any JASO certifcation . That said , if you have not experienced any clutch problems like slip etc and your bike runs superbly on it, as you testify , you can continue to use it . What more proof to the pudding than in eating it ?
Not using non-jaso car oils in wet clutch motorcycle engines is more of a general caution ; not all car oils contain the anti-wear & mileage booster additives that are detrimental to wet clutches . Castrol's GTX is a very good oil popular worldwide and in the same grade that's recommended for your bike too . Even if it wears out a bit early ( which I doubt would in your case ) , a set of clutch plates is worth about two bottles of bike oil .

Which is why I didn't tell him to stop using it out and out.. It'd be interesting to follow this case and note the developments if he continues with GTX..

Let me share what happened yesterday..

Case 1- I went straight to BAJAJ SC (Sarai khwaja).. i gave them the keys and told them to check whether all things are clear or not.. after a ride svc guy told me.. sir..
              a) pickup kum hai clutch plate gayi lagta hai.. (13k on odo)
              b) handle tight chal raha hai.. bearing change karni padegi..
              c) shocker oil kum hai..
              d) inquired about oil.. for P135.. DTSI10000 only and strictly
total service estimate-- Rs. 1880 (oil including)

Case 2)- Thereafter went to CASTROL BZone (faridabad).. i gave them the keys and told them to check whether all things are clear or not.. after a ride guy told me.. sir..
              a) sab thik hai.. bas clutch ki settings change karni padegi..
              b) maine oil k baare me pucha to bola.. ki sir hum to GTX 20W50 hi daalte hai P135 me.. iska grade yahi hai..
              total service estimate-- Rs. 400 - 500

Case 3) Thereafter went to my regular mechanic.. i gave them the keys and told them to check whether all things are clear or not.. after a ride guy told me.. sir..
              a) kuch nahi.. pickup nahi le rahi hai.. setting kar doonga
              b) oil ke baare mein pucha to bola ki.. isme to 20W40 hi padta hai..
              c) i was shocked to know that atleast 95% of roadside mechanic or dealer told me to use 20W40.. in P135..
total service estimate- Rs. 150 (without oil)

Actually, problem ye hai ki.. initial 3 services k baad mein.. maine ek bhi service.. BAJAJ se nahi karai.. keval oil change karva deta tha from my regular mechanic
.. its Ok as of now after case 3

but dont know where to find 20W50 oil in delhi.. i reside at sarita vihar (south delhi)..

              suggestions welcome..

Motul makes a 15w50 mineral oil , motul 3000 4T plus 15w50 @ 220 Rs (approx) per liter pack . Buy it from any motul dealer or good oil shop . Drain the old oil hot & refill with the new oil . Clutch aur pick-up kuch bhi adjust karna nahi padega . Automatically thik ho jayega , I promise it .
If not riding the bike very hard and long (i.e not much chance of heating up) 20w40 would work good too , motul/gulf/elf is good @ 20w40t too , same price . 20w40 is the most readily available & preferred motor oil grade in India , so naturally mechanics love it & company service centers hate it .

Dear Italian stallion, dont use castrol gtx, it will make your clutch slip.
My friend's hunk needed some 7k-rpm to cruise at 80kmph while using GTX for summers.
And about the low pickup mantra xxW50 is thicker than W40, so engine parts will move more freely so more pickup in W40 oil. (That's what your mechanic is referring to) But then you're using GTX so your clutch is slipping causing low pickup.
Just use the Jaso certified W50 oil. No setting-wetting needed. You won't regret this latter.
My suggestion, if you are not getting W50 oil at any shop, then go to yamaha service station they keep their W50 oil.

                        Hey buddy,
i also own a P135LS and face the same problems.
*Rear shox make some noise when load is given on them.
*fuel indicator shows always incorrect indication.Once i got my bike refuelled and within 1km it showed me reserve sign but went around 130 km before i turned it to reserve.
*And now after around a year,it has also turned up with some missing. While braking or turning, when the clutch is fully levered engine kills.
                        Bikes don't leak oil,
                        They mark their territory.

                          @ akari:
fuel gauge will show wrong figures if the bike is tilted.. But i've seen other pulsar users (digital speedo) with the same problem.
Engine shut off issues can be due to:
chocked air filter, dirty carb, dirty fuel tank cap, busted spark plugs, wrong tuning of carb, etc..
Tell us more about your problems for precise troubleshooting..
Sorry cant say about rear suspension..
Note: dont use others thread for your own:-@..
You should have started your own thread.

Don't know that how many of you are facing this problem.. but sometimes.. my mill(p135) runs as smooth as butter.. but on any other day it runs as heavy as if there are three persons sitting on it..

when i got it checked from my regular street side mechanic (servicing only at BSC).. he ripped the bike hard and after putting his hands on silencer told me "yaar, ye to dhuan de rahi hai (still ripping it).. warranty me hai na.. isko le jao.. aur bolo (BSC) ki piston change kare valve dead hai"

Valve dead @ 13679 Km.. never ripped it beyond 85 kmph (excluding twice)..

Went straight to DEWAN BAJAJ, OKHLA, NEW DELHI.. there i told service center guy to check it.. "thodi bhaari chal rahi hai".. check kari aur 20 minute baad la ke bola.. "clutch plate down hai"..

usko bataya.. bhai.. ghumne jana hai.. ~1200 kms.. chali jayegi.. bola haan..

But i am still confused what to do.. clutch plate worn out @ 13679 km..
Is BAJAJ showing its true color??

Confused whether to go home on it or not..

                            What should i do???

Why don't you stick to authorised svc if your bike is still under warranty? They will change the parts under warranty if at all anything is needed.
