    Which battery...?

    Hello people..! My name is harshit and I have a query.. I own a Bajaj Pulsar 180 UG3. Off late my battery had become really weak.. I have not changed tha batttery after I have bought the bike. Its been 4 years now. I'm considering changing my battery. I'm a bit confused because I get mixed reviews aabou th batteries in market. I have two brands in mind:
    1. Exide
    2. Amaron

    When enquired about these two battery I was hurled with lot of issues with these manufacturers. People told me that Exide is costly and has poor customer service and Amaron is not worth the hype. People tell me that Amaron does not last long and it rubbish. I'm in a confused state now because as far as my friend's experience goes he i really happy with Exide and one of m friend has Amaron. Both of them have Pulsar.

    The reason why I'm choosy about the battery is because I have installed HID on my bike and want a battery that will withstand the load. So I kindly request for a positive feedback from you all..!

      i don't know about amaron, heard that its good.

      but i have always used exide in my pulsar 150 ug3. and i am satisfied with it, lasts more than 2 years. i have converted my bike to full DC, i am also using an HID, which consumes 5 amps after stabilization.

      never had any bad experience with exide, just maintain the electrolyte level regularly.

        Thanks princesirohi..! So as far as I maintain the electrolyte level, Exide is the best..! Not a problem..! So can u tell me how much will it cost approximately..!

          Well, i think amaron is good.
          The amount of strain i put on my battery is incomparable, its been almost a year, and the battery is still TOP NOTCH.
          The after sales is also amazing.

          Now here comes the best part, its not needed to fill the electrolyte too.
          Just plonk the battery, and forget it.

          But tell me, is the UG3 model all DC ???
          If not then are you running the HID in an AC/DC bike ??
          Giving a lot to a fiero.
          Expecting a lot from a fiero.

            My bike is running in full DC since I have installed HID..! That's why I am concerned about the batttery..! But I dint understand the "plonk" the battery.. U mean to say that instead of changing the electrolyte should I change the battery..? I'm in a confused state whether to buy Exide or Amaron..!

              He means amaron battery is Maintenance free battery,So you don't need to fill it with electrolyte like in that of normal batteries.I am using Amaron 9Ah battery in my karizma,check it out on my signature,My vote goes for Amaron,It can hold HID's.

              it costed me 1650rs. with 4yrs warranty.

                Your bike's battery charging rates aren't meant to run FULL DC.
                If you think changing the battery with a fresh 9 amp will make a difference, then your wrong.

                Even if you buy the new battery, it will work well for 2-3 days max, and then will be completely drained.
                Because the amount of current reaches the battery for charging isn't enough to compensate for the headlight and all other electricals too.

                So you'll have to convert the bike to ALL DC first, this CAN ONLY BE DONE by coil rewinding with a single wire and ape rr unit.

                The amaron that i am using has 60 months warranty + pro rata replacement.
                Giving a lot to a fiero.
                Expecting a lot from a fiero.

                  I think new Amaron comes with 48months warranty.Company is in loss with 5years warranty.I bought it few weeks back and its manufacturing date was 4/11.

                    How can I rewind my coil..? Somebody help me.. I guess u have given me a apt response regarding my issue.! My battery kind drains out because of this..! Can u suggest me how to rewind the coil for full DC..? I think the guy who installed the HID screwed up the electicals of my bike..! Could u tell me how to have an apt RR unit...?

                        @Aneesh@4GHz: There are two series available in Amaron-Alpha&Beta, with 48&60 months.

                        @Thread Starter: I would also recommend Amaron-I also have a 48 month warranty piece 2.5A on my Fiero F2.
                        After facing lots of acid leakage issues with the old Amcos, I shifted to Amaron 1.5 years back&have never even got it checked till date. It is performing flawlessly.

                          Wow..Thanks for that info bro.My battery model is AP-BTX9R and 48Months warranty.Is this BETA or ALPHA?AP-ATX9 is Alpha in Website,still mine has only 48Months warranty.

                            AP-ATX is Alpha Series,
                            AP-BTX is Beta Series.
                            Yours&mine are both BTX, hence 48 months warranty.

                              Alpha is with 30+30 months guarantee/warranty while the same battery with 24+24 months is called Beta....Alpha series had been stopped .
