Secondly, even if you try this technique of kicking it to warm up, clutch lever can be open because a kick does turn the crank, inside the crankcase.
Actually this kind of a thing is also mentioned in the manual.. It also says that this kind of a practice ensures proper lubrication of clutch components for their longer life.. check out the manual.. its available in mypulsar.com

Hi guys.. I changed my rpm today.. Made it around 1300 after riding 6kms.. Lets see how it works..

The new split mud guard in the rear is of no use.. It has been raining nowadays.. I just came back from a ride and its full of mud stains.. Even above the mud guard!!! God!! I had washed it yesterday itself..
      Anyone else facing this problem??

Arnab , I don't see your location here ; are you in kolkata ? For monsoons and roads here you need full mudguards and full chain-covers , period . If not for yourself then for the poor guy trailing your bike . Pulsar 135LS was initially released with both , check if your Bajaj service station can retrofit your bike with full mudguards and chain covers of the initial model . Any little cost will be worth it .

Still the problem of engine shutting off persists.. i have to give some throttle to keep it on.. Is this a major problem or can i wait till my first service..??
          Arnab,
Actually this kicking with ignition off has to be done with clutch lever pressed.
But this doesnt mean that your bike will not stall at idling rpm
Basically when you kick with ignition off,it is required for only vertical engines like Bajaj,TVS,Honda (and not the Hero Honda slanted engines like splendor, passion) oil settled down the whole night will start circulating to the parts of engine hence your bike will not run dry at the startup.
Oil flow is little bit difficult in vertical engines whereas in horizontal engines like hero honda 100 cc and 125 cc bikes,as soon as the bike is started, oil circulates in engine hence no problem there.
It is recommended to keep the clutch lever pressed because it ensures proper lubrication of clutch.
For stalling engine, idling rpm only needs to be set properly whereas the kicking with ignition off is a practice followed for enhanced engine life and prevent excessive heating of engine parts
Also idling rpm more than 1400 doesnt affect mileage
But it is recommended to warm up the bike, run it for 5 kms and check if your idling rpm is around 1200 because as the engine gets heated up,the idling rpm moves towards 2000 figure later(This factor only comes in picture during long drives)

Well to warm up the bike as i know we should keep it in idle for a minute.. That is just not happening with my bike.. I wonder whats wrong.. This morning i had set it around 1200 to 1300 after running 6kms.. I did from some road side mechanic.. And i saw a strange behaviour.. I see them pretty reluctant to increase the rpm.. I wonder why?? Now i am seeing it as 1000rpm(after running 3kms).... HOw did it come down(it was warm enough)??

The only problems that i am facing are..

              1. It wont start on the first try.. Once the engine starts it is around 900rpm.. Have to give it some throttle to keep it on.. this irritates me to the core.. Why o why with a new bike??? Once it is warm it has the most beautiful movements in neutral... I am thinking of sticking to the current position till the first service.. What do you people say??

              2. There is supposed to be an autchoke.. It doesn't seem to work in my bike.. Cant see even a touch of it in the mornings?? Anyone else facing the same problem??

I think that you need to wait for first service
The authorized service center people has got instruments to check emmision from the exhaust
These people tunes your bikes and at the same time, they measure the emmision from the exhaust and they do the tunings till the ideal readings are recorded
Atleast in Pune,Many TVS ASC do follow this technique and I think that Bajaj also might do this stuff
I think it will be better to wait till first service
I also faced almost similiar problem 6 years back when I purchased brand new Splendor plus.It gave me many problems right from starting in morning till engine shutting off when you are riding at speed of around 50 kph(It was very risky on highways). But all these were rectified by HH in first service
                So nothing to worry

                  AutoChoke???
So you dont have choke lever on your handlebar
I mainly think that this problem comes when your bike is set to be lean Air-fuel mixture
If there was some choke lever on your hanblebar,I would have recommended you a technique
After kicking with ignition off, start your bike with choke lever pressed
Now keep the choke pressed for around 30 seconds
due to this, your bike will function normally

Your doubt of auto-choke not working is right
Could you please consult Bajaj showroom and get the autochoke working done?
Does your bike gives good mileage?
Does your bike feel strained on climbing slopes when riding with pillon
if yes then The problem is lean or rich AF ratio
while giving for servicing, please tell the ASC person to remove the spark plug and then check the tip of plug.
If it is whiteish and dry then lean burn AF(high mileage)
If it is light-brown to light-black then it is normal
If it is dark black then your AF ratio is rich(low mileage)

maybe during first service the mileage will decrease/increase and your bike will function normal
I think it is the carb tuning problem. But dont do from any local mechanic.Let the Bajaj ASC do it.
