... I've been stopped and checked I dunno how many times .... sometimes thrice in three consecutive days on the same route .. specially after some terrorist attack happens anywhere .. they intensify the checks here .... or before the republic day too ... or say I'm riding out late at night after 12 ... which I have to do often . It is no use arguing with the cops ... saab , special checking chal rahi hai saab ... they'll say . I keep my helmet on & personal Identification and bike papers clear at all times and never give them opportunity for any doubt , and have never wasted more than 5-10 minutes anywhere . I have asked my RTO office (while I was there re-newing my licence) and they said that, that permission letter thing is necessary and what it should contain , and I have given one to my wifey's driver and instructed him to let them check the boot/undercarriage with mirrors etc readily without any argument , to spare him any unnecessary trouble too , and he has since had'nt any
. It's my quiet way of dealing with such things ; you can choose to fight and shout it out, or go to court about it against them , with my best wishes
