Ok, thanks for the information. Btw, i just checked and we don't have any castrol bike zone franchises in Bombay. I wonder why? Also, this maybe a stupid question but i was wondering if pressing the clutch when coming down a slope is bad for the clutch? Its because whenever I'm descending from flyover's i try to keep the rev's down let the bike move because of the slope and not the force of the engine and so i keep the clutch pressed.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post

Yup harish, I think the bajaj oil barely lasts for about 500KMS, after that the bike becomes really rough and downshifting becomes a pain in the a**. I think bajaj is trying to sell this oil to people who don't really care about their bikes and just want to save money.Originally posted by HarishK View Post@ easy rider
Whatever oil base you choose, may it be Mineral, Semi-Synthetic or Full Synthetic.
The main thing is the grade, I think Pulsar's 150 go with 15W40, you can also use 15W50 (Motul) no harm.
I have seen a Pulsar DTS-i engine oil which is advertised that the change interval is 10,000Kms and cost is 300rs
(Its total BullSh*t)

Stick to mineral oil at least till 2500 kms, you have very good mineral oils such as motul, valvoline, elf etc in 20w40 grade. Shift to valvoline champ 20w40 and you will love the smoothness
The problem in your bike is more like bad air fuel mixture. Get it tuned perfectly before you look into any other problems. If the tuning is lean then the engine will be harsh. I am sure your prob will be solved after tuning properly.
Dont use clutch in down slope, even i was doing the same but it affects the clutch life.
What is the sound you are referring to ? Cant get you clearly but yeah when climbing the fly overs, even in my bike the tappet noise is very much audible.. As someone pointed out, make sure you dont climb in higher gears
