Yeah those were my thoughts too... But by reading ANanth's and a few other's attempts, I feel Aargee is right... I myself have gone thru this route and I know that the traffic in the route route post kohlapur slows you down considerably.. Not to mention the ghats..

Thanks Aargee.. I am going on a trial run from Bangalore to Davanagere/Haveri to see how the bike performs... Will keep you updated...

Wait...if you're really serious, go all way upto Belgaum & come back; This way your mental confidence will improve that you can do 1000 Km; also you'll get to know how much of endurance you have + you can easily calculate how much more time you'll need to cover the remaining 600+ Kms to plan accordingly.

And the greatest advantage of this trial run is that, it will help you understand your riding skill better + you're in no obligation to complete; the moment you feel you're stressed or tired, you've option to take it slow or simply return back to give it another time

        Apologies @ aargee & speakfree2mk

Having Nitro for SZR is not a good idea as we have TVS tires on the bike , the bikes rear always slipping and i feel that the rear is not in my hand yesterday my mech rode my bike and pointed the reason of my fall is Nitrogen and TVS tires , so i have now pure normal air in both accordingly to the manuals and todays off riding and on highway i felt much comfortable in riding as well as good controls , i would suggest you to change the tires if you can to Dual Up Geo Cruse

No need to apologize to me; I've already stated there would be no significance improvement notice be it for SS or regular use

Thanks a tonne Aargee.. Its just that the 1000km run will atleast take around 15-16 hrs and I dont want to scare my parents already.. The max I can get without them noticing I amnt in office is around 12 hrs (for now)... My plans were originally to ride 12 hrs straight (take a U-turn wherever I am at the 6th hour) and see how much I can manage...

Thanks so much .. Rains cancelled my prev Sunday run.. Hopefully the rain gods will spare me for the ride this Sunday..Will be posting lot more queries after the trial run..

Thanks VaIsh .. I was planning to go for nitrogen in the tyres today until I read your post... THe TVS tyres aren't made forlong rides as I've experienced (skids on wet surfaces and doesnt grip well while cornering ) ...I am planning to change my tyres soon.. Any idea how much the Dual Up Geo Cruise will cost ??

                      1. Get a good quality rain coat (Rain Jacket + Rain Pants) which is seamed
                      2. Rain cools down the bike and IMO traffic on the highway is far emptier than a regular Hot Sunday
                      3. Need not go for 1000, Calculate the time you take for the first 500 Kilometers (and also how long you can ride without stopping) - The answer will let you know how easier you will attain the 16xx Kilometers
                      4. Its the first 1000 Kilometers that is easier to do. Last 500 Kilometers will tire you down, Kill you with boredom and make you sit on a seat full of thorns.
                      5. Add foam to your seat if required.
                      6. Inform your parents / friends / anyone about your whereabouts. It is NOT OK to sneak in 1000 kilometers and not inform where you will be to your Parents / those who care for you!

                      Good Luck and Ride Safe.

Like i had mentioned back then, that is a wrong assessment.Nitrogen doesn't heat up like oxygen, true, but it doesn't affect tire temperature.-it doesn't run the tires cooler.
Nitrogen helps maintaining constant tire pressure.

Now even if Nitogen runs the tire cooler,we are not talking Racing here, you wont find any diff. The reason for the poor traction is the TVS tires.

Zapper -from my experience-is not that great for wet roads and it behaves like mad if there is trace of gravel..Go for the dunlop geo cruise/Ceat. Sirac is also a good option
                                It's better in the WINDS>
