Keep the foam element in your custom filter oiled , and that would serve the purpose just fine .

Can it happen due to excessive pressure buildup in the crankcase due to worn piston rings(causing blow-by) ?I am asking this because I have seen old cars with worn piston ring to foul the filter with oil via pcv.
Yes worn piston rings will allow more compression leak which will increase blow by and hence more oil in the breather tube.

Incase you have a FF filter and you have removed the stock air filter box you can have the breather pipe replaced with the Duckbill Breather Hose from the RE Bullet. This is a one way breather and pushes the gas built up in the crank case out but does not suck in air from outside.

          Oil in airfilter chamber

Guys i need urgent help ...
Some days back when i changed my airfilter on YAMAHA FAZER i noticed oil inside the chamber.... I have posted some pictures of it. Can any one tell what might be the reason. I dont have any idea. I asked the yamaha service center people ...but they said its common...nothing to worry...but still i am not sure...dont want to believe on what they say....

Yes it is normal to find small amounts of oil in the air filter box in most modern engines, where the engine crank case is connected to the air box to breathe..this is called Crankcase ventilation.

Sc people say that in modern engines the breather pipe is connected in such a way that little amount of oil will come ...it is actually in vapour form first then the vapour settles down as oil near the pipe. And the SC head also told that this is most seen on bikes who mostly do long rides... in the case of city riders generally so much oil is not seen..
