the problems that you are facing are small.. Call Srini in roaring riders, you can also contact him here on xbhp. there is a yezdi thread,

you have problem with your carb and the rims.. Speak to him and you should be sorted, you can also give him my reference (Devang Rachh from mumbai). Cheerss and happy riding.

yaeh!! you are right buddy, but need more info on the real scenario to conclude the trouble....any way let pom4996 contact any one of us to his convenience

bike is with my brother in coimbatore...i'm out of station also unable to look after it regularly so gave it to my bro for time being.....he was yet to find a jawa mechanic there...as the bike arrived last week only.....thats sought help from you ppl......he is in coimbatore will ask him to get in touch with you sir.....thnks for your support

Looks like your carb is not good. That might be the reason for all these. THis might be a problem with the card or the throttle assembly. Need to analyse the problem.

the petrol leakage - the float could be stuck. pls remove the thread cap of the carb cover assy and try to see if the float is stuck. this may also answer why ur acc cable is stuck.

the wobbling - it could be due to a bent rim or a bearing. check these before u change tyres. as far as i know, tyres and wobbling are not connected. even a bald tyre with correct air pressure must not wobble.

i am not an expert, but i own a yezdi. petrol leakage has happened to me before.

HI V,

Certainly Tyres have got something to do with Wobbling. Let me give you two examples. Both are real incidents.
1. A friend of mine rode his Yezdi, punctured, still rode it for 12 Kms, The tyre Beading got bent, and hence it wobbled.
2. Tyres were not fitted properly on the Rims. Hence it caused Wobbling. We had to remove the tube and tyre was re-fitted again.

Hi All,

My Yezdi type B 1978 model is giving me no major troubles and gives me a healthy mileage of 28 in city. But I have a situation here, the bike does not go above 60 kmph. I showed it to my mechanic and he told me that the bike has got very good compression but the problem is with the electrical unit (The one on the other side of the gearbox) and that he notices the wiring is modified which is reducing power. He told me that the unit needs to be changed which will cost 4k! I want to know if this really is the issue or there could be something else...?

Are you from bangalore? and if so, who is your mechanic????

It is quite possible that because of the electrical unit the bike cant do high speeds. not 100% sure about the actual issue, lot of things to be eliminated. Do you know Lokesh of bangalore? meet him in person, and meet moosa bhai, who is a good mechanic there in bangalore.
