    HI All,

Please go through the ownership thread of Yamaha FZ16... Mitz and i have extensively discussed an shared alternatives against the Stock MRFs for Yamaha FZ/Fazer/FZS. Although the conversation has been purely for ride preparation to Leh/Ladakh, it does discuss the various other options one can look for besides the stock if one is not happy.

Bear in mind though, One may witness change in handling characteristics of the bike... The stock MRF Tyre is of softer compound but is not a semi slick like one gets with R15 V1. It is brilliant for high speed cornering but yes on bad roads and highways filled with nails, sharp metal objects more susceptible to puncture. However, having said that, as per my ownership experience with the stock ones, i have witnessed only two punctures in over 18,000 kms and that's about it.

    Cheers,

IRC/ Dunlop Indian 140/70/17 should be a good option if you do a lot of riding on tarmac. You can also look around for Pirelli Sports Demon in 140 70 17 size if at all available there in Sri Lanka.

        Hope this helps.

Have anyone used dunlop gpr 200 sportsmax for fz 16?
I felt that tyre is smaller than same range tyre(not wider)

Get in touch with Rider Deville from ownership thread of Yamaha FZ/Fazer. He can give you the rates of the same though i don't think the rates applicable in India would be valid in Sri Lanka +- import duties or any taxes.

                Hai
I have been using MRF Revz for the part 18000 kms and countless punctures. Got fed up and changed to PSD 13/80-17. 2000kms till date and not even a single puncture and the bike is struck to the ground like it is glued. Anyway PSD is great and I would definitely recommend PSD. Cheers

i started having problem with my zappers on fz-s in the first 5-6 months from date of purchase and had around 8-9 puncute fixes, used these for around 17k and changed to pirelli sport demon 140/17-70 and now the bike has clocked 34.5k and let me tell you these tyres are superb on grip, in my case they gave me more confidence on turnings and braking.they offer a better grip in rains and slush too, only had 2 punctures till now and dont give too much trouble.they go on for like 10k more and the grip is still intact till now. from what i have noticed that they do increase a little bit of height of the bike from the rear.

Is it good to chage radial tyre to bias ply because the sport demon is bias ply and the stock one is radial
