HMSI once told me they charge about 8K for repainting the front side completely + fenner. Needless to say, I decided to keep the scooter the same & instead I spent the money on the interiors completely & except for the looks, its a brand new showroom vehicle; even after 7 years, it was able to do 80+ Kmph!!!

If there are too many dents, get it fixed by a pro. Once that is done, painting is a breeze. Remove all panels, prepare it, since it is the beginning of summer in most parts of India, moisture shouldn't be a worry right now. Once the denting is done, remove the panels, sand them up, apply primer, you get spray cans in most paint shops. Get a couple of them and practice on some other sheet metal first. You need to ensure that the spray is uniform. Foam rollers and stuff work for normal paints but if you are looking for a metallic finish, it would be quite difficult. Since a can of spray paint costs around 200 Rs. you can probably spend a couple of them on your practice. Once you are confident of the finish, go ahead with painting your scoot. Do remember that most of these cans are quick dry varieties. Spray three coats, with a 30 min gap between each coat. Sand it again and then spray one more. Leave it aside overnight or for a full day. Then go ahead with two or three coats, until you are satisfied with the results. Might take you around a dozen cans to finish the job. so, approx costs for the paint might be around 2.5k and the sandpapers and stuff shouldn't be more than a 100 Rs.
Once that is done, get the sticker things done. And then get a couple of cans of clear coat/lacquer and do two coats with this. All your experience with the several coats with paint should help you with getting a good finish with the clear coat.

Try Andhra Paints near Ranigunj X-Rds, if you are coming via MG Road, you need to take a left at the X-Rds and it will be the second shop on the right. Also, at the same x-rds, if you take a right, towards Minister Road, the third shop on the left, I guess it is called Hindustan Paints, also stocks a lot of spray cans.
