I own an apache RTR 180 and am looking for new tyres for both front and rear, will be buying michellin as pirelli are too costly. The stock tyre size for front is 90/90 17inch and for rear is 110/80 17inch.The problem is michellin dosent have the exact size so can anyone help me choose a good one as i am not too familiar with buying tyres.

I too am facing the same problem...planned on installing Michelins after first 15,000 kms but soon found out there are no models available in 110/80 17"

although the local Tyre guy said i could go in for Continental tyre used in the CBR250 (front), regarless the size being 110/70 17"...but i'm not sure

got any other other brands and models u know about???

But whats the maximum tyre size that can fit without any mods to the swing arm?...and although Pirelli is the grippiest tyre it wears out sooner than other soft compound tyres and decreases pick up...An MRF Zapper C 120/80 17" is a better bet (that is if it fits without any mods)

                I've zeroed down on MRF...Zapper FS 90/90 17" (front)
and the Zapper Vyde or Zapper C 120/80 17" (rear)
i think its the best bet for now...

you can also consider installing the Yamaha R15 1.0 set onto your Apache...but i wouldn't Recommend down-sizing as it was engineered for the R15...not the Apache

Not possible!...simply because 18" and 17" are two different RIM sizes...and I've done a survey...MRF seems to the best choice of the people in India...I too wanted to go for Michelins but there are only a few models of it available in India like the M45 and Pilot Sporty and none of them go with the Rim size of the A180...and Pirellis are too heavy and wear out super fast and to add it all up they're over priced

the stock for apache front are 90/90 17'' and rear is 110/80 17'' so according to what the guy above says its a perfect fit for rear but the thing is this is the international site if you check on the indian site of michelling they just provide you with a pdf which says 18'' is good for tvs apache.According to the international site the closest to the rear tyre looks like 130/80 17''.

i'm sorry...what i mean to say was that the tyre DOES come in 110/80 17" size but its for the front fitment not the rear wheel...check out the link below

Most tyres are made for either purely front or purely rear use. However some manufacturers produce tyres to fit either front or rear, but these have directional arrows on the sidewall for front or rear use. If a tyre is made for front use only, then you cannot put it on the rear and visa versa for rear use.
