All scooters have forced air cooling.
If your scooter is overheating then you can put it on center stand and rev it slightly without pulling brakes, with tires not touching the ground.
This way the engine will cool without load faster.

In Chetak, the engine fins are located under the right engine cover.Automatic Scooters like activa,Acess etc.. have it below the engine cover.

    Hope it helps.

i have heard that before in my uncle's flyte when it was new.
we took it for a 50 km ride back then.
maybe the engine got overheated fast cuz it was a new one!
I heard this tak tak tak sound whenever I switched off my pulsar150.
I also hear this sound in my friends Fazer.
However, this sound comes even if the bike has taken for a short ride only.
Can anyone clarify for what this sound comes on??

I guess you are talking about the silencer colling mechanism.

Ok somen, I looked at the thread page.
I find 2 different solutions in two post -
Post #10912 - talks about baffle plates in the exhaust system (silencer)
Post #10914 - talks about catalyst converter

                  Which one is the correct.
And, If we go by Post, will 200NS have no such sound at all, coz it has no cat-con(I guess) in its under-belly exhaus!??

The contracting of the heated catalytic convertor material (inside the exhaust pipe) produces a minor tik-tik noise after the engine is switched off .

Unlikely ! without a catalytic convertor it may not conform to the BS-III emission norms that has become compulsory in all Indian cities now .
