    Hello all,

I need to do a mod on my 220Fi 4year old 50k+ kms done.

The RVMs are too small these days (I had replaced them with the larger ones from the new 220F around 6months back but still I cant see anything in them) The main culprit is the vibration on high speeds. Frankly speaking, 98% of the time, I ride fast and all I can see is colorful blurr on the RVMs.

Is there any other option where I can fix the RVMs? I was thinking if I could install RVMs on the edge of the handle bars. Vintagely good looking in my opinion or even the normal positions would do.

Secondly, if I remove the RVMs off their present position there would be hollow points remaining. is it possible to fix a see-through fibre type thing there? Would give it a great tourish look

Any opinions where can these be done and how to do them?

    Query Approved and moved

If you want to keep the RVMs (which I recommend) you can use RTR mirrors as replacement.

If you want them removed, lets see what can be done. Maybe the other members can help.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

You can make mirror mounts on the bar-end weights(Get them drilled and tapped at a local workshop) cafe racer style. For the open holes which remain after removal of original mirrors do the following:
1.Stick a strip of plastic sheet at the back of the holes using araldite.
2.Fill the holes with M-seal and wait for it to dry.
3.Using zero-grade sandpaper smoothen the surface of the M-seal so that it becomes flush with the surface of the fairing.
4.Touch up the spot of M-seal with paint of the same colour as the fairing.

A friend has installed the RTR mirrors on his 220Fi, which I think involved a bit of welding also, but now its just beautiful...
