Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Yes. A spark plug doesn't just depend on the tip of the plug, but also the other components. Good OEM spark plugs last as much as 40000km. But please follow your users manual for change.A spark plug costs you as mere as rs.20 to Rs.100. Please don't go for Iridium plugs, they are not needed for your bike. For Fazer 153cc the best recommendation would be: NGK G-Power. (CPR8EAGP-9)

There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Bro a ngk G power is about 210/- and it might last max 40000kms. iridium costs 470 and it might last more than 70000kms . And as i have read that iridium plugs provide more spark than g power so fuel is burnt completely. plz suggest what i should do. Even i am congused because if i replace stock plug with iridium i should replace the stock cable with split fire cable...

          1. Fazer/FZ/SZR do not have a specific Iridium plugs available yet.
Using other plug not designed for the bike is more harmful as it is not set at proper ignition gap.
          2. Even if you invest on one, I dont think an Iridium plug would be carefully handled during service. You need to keep reminding them not to rub sandpaper on the plug like they do with other regular plugs which will render iridium useless.
          3. Who told you that an Gpower lasts 40K km and Iridium 70K? Its baseless and wrong fact. Also as for burning of fuel is concerned, a small spark is enough to ignite, fuel burn depends on amount of air available. Only benefit of iridium is it can work under heavier stress loads, our bikes have a comression ratio of 10:1, but performance bikes it can go upto 15:1, in such conditions you need iridium plugs. For now just stick to G-power which is a lot better, and please change the g-power around 20-25K km.
          4. I dont see why you need an performance component for an ordinary bike., Its not about the spending here, you may buy the iridium plug with split fire cable but that really is only 5-10% better than G-power which is 50% better than your present stock plug when you have all same model ones,

But since fazer/fz/szr do not have any iridium available if you fix any other model other than CPR8EA-9, then performance would not be even close to the NGK designed CPR8EAGP-9 plug specifically for your bike engine.

So G-power is the best choice.

Stock Spark Plug (NGK CPR8EA-9 Standard Plug)
Iridium Spark Plug (NGK CPR7EAIX-9 IX Iridium Plug)

Also Change the Plug Cable to NGK from Stock.

If you are not happy with the acceleration, you may change the rear sprockets from 40T (Yamaha FZ S v1) to 41T (Yamaha FZ S v2). Top end will be decreased by 3-4kmph, but 0-60 will be improved.

Iridium plug/cable/both will not make any noticeable difference, except for a dent on the pocket.
Most importantly; you just replied to a 3 year old (dead) thread.
