  • High rev nature of Pulsar 200NS???

I am having a hard time adjusting my riding style with the aggression of Pulsar 200NS. My earlier experience was with P150, but now with 23.5 bhp, the bike is sometimes flying off than my judgement.
I am a very sedate kind of rider, and Don't ride with high revs. I don't do high pick-up, and love to ride at low torque. (kindda Bullet like). To explain more, I generally don't twist the accelerator while starting, and do with just by gentle release of the clutch. But with my 200NS, I am not able to do this. I have to give quite an amount of rev (I think abt 2 rpm) while releasing the clutch , or else the engine is dying off. I don't know whether it is due to something about clutch play, or whether the NS is meant to ridden with high revs. Would very much like some answers on this by you guys.

Note - I do idle my bike for 2mins before starting off. And this particular issue is happening even when the engine is Hot.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

adjust the clutch cable,a release at 2k rpm seems reasonable
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

2000 Rpm is nothing for a bike, ahem. Moreover you cant roll off at idle RPM a la cars on every bike except if the bike is primarily built for torque.I think even superbikes might be requiring a little bit of revs on board to start off from 0Kmph..

I could start off without any revs from 0kmph in my P150, my friend's Fazer, and even in Honda Twister.

adjust the clutch and make more freeplay to a position where you need to release even less than half the clutch to move ahead... The problem will be rectified almost... The clutch is adjusted from factory in such a manner that you have to dump the whole clutch to keep going... Go to any local bike garage and fix it... just increase the freeplay to almost half...

Since I'm am not totally sure, so will check tomorrow, but ..
I think The bike is moving at half clutch release but have to rev at 2k. Otherwise the bike is dying off..

All these bikes are primarily meant to perform at low revs bro..

So does this mean that NS cannot be ridden like that, and it's completely normal to rev it while releasing the clutch?

hm understood the problem...but still 2k is okay but if its becoming 2.5k then you should change the settings...but still you can adjust the clutch and increase freeplay.... Will make a more friendly clutch...

my ns, doesnt require throttle to start rolling, it easily rolls from 1.5k rpm which is my bike idling speed!!

                      So better get it checked

I think its quite normal, a CBR250R also requires 2~2.5K revs to pull from standstill.

                            @ Thread Starter,

The answer is simple, adjust the clutch play to a harder operating level. Dis-engage the clutch lever at a much slower rate, you will get what you wanted. Again do not blame if your palm is aching.

i experienced the same problem when i bought this bike... previously i had GS150r.... 200NS cant be ridden at lower speeds with high gears.... still if u compare to other bikes this bike can still come down to 40kmph in 6th gear.... not as good as GS150R which is near 28kmph in 6th gear(without Tappit noise)... but the thing that falls to my mind is itz a 200cc engine so may 40kmph 6th gear is quite normal
