  • Apache 180 std 2010: bike tyres wobbling at higher speeds: say above 100km/h

my bike tyres are wobbling whenever i speed up above 100km/h
i dont know what's the problem??
Is it same like we have in cars....the wheel balancing thing by adding weights to a particular point on rim after some particular kms done by the vehicle?

or is it that the tyre is just wrongly fitted?

I didn't faced any accident or something like that...
I've done only 13000kms done on my bike in 2 years...

please help me as soon as possible as now i don't speed over 60km/h just on a precautionary basis...

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Check for tire wear. I had this issue on my A160 but changing the front tire did the work!

your front bearing might has gone bad, check it for any wear and tear and also the front axle.

Yup,this seems to be the problem. Its definitely not about waring of the tires. I am riding with my stock tire for last... wait for it.... 41K kms (have changed the rear though).

I had faced the same problem in RTR180, the problem was with the forks. Have your forks checked with an mechanic.

this problem may occur due to worn out bearings or wrongly fitted tyres. just see if both tyres are nicely fitted on rim. to check this, just have a look on distance between rim and a circular thread on tyre should be eqal throughout.

got it checked at nearest tvs service center....they say that it need wheel alignment & balancing....& asking for a hefty rs440 for that....
even my honda city's wheel balancing & alignment cost me only rs.400....
should i go with it? well m gonna check some local wheel balance shop for it tommorow...

Rs.440 !!!! thats too much. It would cost you max Rs.100 and around Rs. 100 extra if certain bearings needs replacement.

My friend's rtr 180 have the same problem...the only thing is it happens only in slow speeds like 50-60 the bike handle go sideways..like wobbling...but the problem disappears when speeding.
