  • CBZ star

I have CBZ star 2005 model. There is some noise occurs while riding. sounds like loose mudguard, but on observing, it actually comes from disc brake, braking is also not so effective. I have changed brake fluid, increase distance b/w brake pads, but it still noisy. What should I do??

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Do you have a bent disc that touches the pad on rotation making noise?

Please replace the disc. The irregularity in shape is making noises and is dangerous in the long run too.

Check your owners manual. If its lost, check the current plug type, i.e whether its AC / DC (It will be written on side of plug), I believe its DC for CBZ, buy any plug that matches. You can go for brands such as NGK, BOSCH/MICO etc. No need to go for hyper expensive ones like NGK-Iridium though.

                  1. How many kms done?
                  2. When did you last change your engine oil?
                  3. What grade Engine oil are you using?
                  4. When did you last go for the regular servicing? Highlight any important jobs that were done recently.

And for your queries, you can visit the xtreme/hunk thread on Motorcycle_Ownership_experiences thread and get a lot more responses than you will probably get here. And please limit your query to one at a time and try to include as much details as you can. Please refrain from using generic terms such as :"Noise-coming-from-I-don't-know-where", "pick-up-affected", etc. Try to be more specific so that other members can more or less zero in on your problem faster.

                    It done almost 37000 kms.
I use 20w40 castrol, and have changed last month during servicing..
chain and sprocket (both front & back) are also changed at same time..

37k kms is tad early for a CBZ for engine rebuild, but it depends on the kinda usage.
If its smoking only at idling the bore/piston shouldn't be at fault. What if you rev high on stanstill(neutral gear), is there smoke?
What about oil level, does it drop after a few kilometers? Also, check exhaust tip for thick greasy balck deposit.

I'm not sure reg. clutch plate, I think original CBZ spares are difficult to find.
IIRC, I have read in CBZ Classic thread on someone using Karizma clutch plates.
Go through CBZ Classic thread, also post your queries there, you would get better response.
