  • How to make my ride more comfortable (Yamaha FZS)

    Hi Experts ,
    I have a Yamaha FZS 2009 model 39000 kms done , Daily usage is 40 kms (20+20) ... I am 6ft 3inches tall and facing backache issues .
Can you please advise me what customizations I can do to make my bike more comfortable .
I had increased the height of the front seat 2inches of cushioning , because I use to slide in front automatically after riding for a while .
Also Is is possible to change handle bars to a more wider one ? if yes, are there any disadvantages in this modification ?

I use to ride Bajaj Discover before FZ
I dont know if there is a bike other than the RE's to match my height ... Buying an RE is still a dream
How can I increase the height of the handle ? will this have any adverse effect on my back ?
        Thank you

Backache on FZ . I am 6'2" and have not faced any back issues till date. The seat is saddle type, how can you slide? Is your rear suspension to hard?? If yes, that might be causing you trouble while riding. Get it checked. Don't make it too soft or too hard. Also, by customizing things, how will your back problem be solved?

The best way to avoid backache is to sit upright while riding. This will help you to a great deal.

Thanks I will get the shocks checked .. back aches after riding .. You are right about the posture , I bend too much while I ride but it happens involuntarily .
            Thanks

              Hi Experts ,
I am planning to change the handle bar of my bike . I need to know is this modification simple or it will require to change any other things
eg: clutch wire , electric wires , etc ?
I measured the handle bar width of FZS it is 85 cm.
I want to fit a handle similar to the below one which is a bit more wide ,

Re: How to make my ride more comfortable (Yamaha FZS)

                Hi bro,

I never heard anyone having a back problem riding an FZ.Compared to other motorcycles fz is the most comfortable.I'm 6ft and I personally ride yamaha fazer and I'm very much satisfied with it.
I think you need to check your rear shock, set it to the default range of 4 on the 1-7 settings, since your's clocked 39000, I think the rear shock might have worn out.

you have mentioned your daily usage as 40 kms ,whether it highway or off road(kind of village or worst road ,you know what i mean).

And bro regarding going for the RE bull ,you will regret after riding it.And from my experience , I know a guy who previously owned a fazer who switched to the RE bullet classic experiencing a slight backpain.

My advice is stick to the mono-shocks.

Increasing the height of handle bar will add to your discomfort ........... you should avoid those extra cushions as well

Other than the list of suggestions above I think you should do some yoga/exercise my friend

                  Warm Regards,

your rear suspension must be on stiffer side making seat inclined towards front which making you slide on seat also check front suspension sag while seating on bike.
