  • compression losing-Engine not starting

Hello friends......Do you know how much compression is required for unicorn engine?. My mechanic has analog & digital compression meter.
Because my compression is getting lose sometime & bike is not able to start at all; kick goes down very soft & starter also not useful to start the engine. Then normally I put 5-10ml oil in combustion chamber through spark plug hole by removing spark plug. I know this is temporary solution to start the engine. What to do to solve this compression losing fault.I have replaced both valves to solve this; but no use. After 3k-4k km again i found same problem. My block-piston is also brand new right now!1. My mechanic told me that 70% unicorn users has this problem.

your mechanic is lying, if 70% of unicorns are having same problems, how come this bike is so successful in market. total crap.

its time to change your mechanic or service center.

surprisingly, compression ratio is not mentioned on the honda website.

it is mentioned in your bike's user manual. additionally you can ask for the service manual at your service center and check in that.

i think it should be between 9:1 to 10:1

Xtreme and hunk have c.r of 9.1 . Failed piston rings, busted bore and leaky valves result in compression loss. Get that engine checked soon or engine will go kaput completely

@thread starter- Yes, your mechanic is right, most of the unicorns have this problem. Even near my mechanic many unicorns come with same problem. Solution is not in bore kit or new valves but in new valve guides. Most of the unicorns valve guides wear out prematurely causing the problem of sudden compression loss. Change the valve guide and polish the valves, your problems will vanish.
