  • HELP: Pulsar 180 UG3 suspension

Hey guys I have a Pulsar 180 UG3. Now everybody knows that all pulsars have a rather hard suspension.I have ridden a karizma and found its suspension to be really good for the kinda roads i have to ride everyday. So is there any way by which I can make my pulsar's suspension as soft as that of Karizma's??

I saw that the rear suspension on my bike is an adjustable one. I asked my mechanic and he said that its on the softest setting. Still i dont find it comfortable.
Can I install Karizma's or CBZ extreme's or even Stunner's suspension on my bike/? how about unicorn's mono rear and fronts???

Don't worry dude... its not a dumb question People are just enjoying their weekend away from their computers I guess...

But if you would throw some light on your usual type of riding conditions, it might help people to better understand your needs and help them help you...

Even I own a pulsar and the relatively hard suspension is not very comfortable but I guess that makes the bike pretty stable at speeds above 70 kmph.

In my opinion, if you do ride at speeds like this, I'd say you are better off with the current suspension setup. I also believe, more often that not, stock suspension setup is the best for basic commuting and stuff...

If you change the suspension, you also risk messing up the original geometry and physics of your bike which I don't think is that good an idea.

You can install the gas type suspension of the new Pulsar. It will require some modification, but I don't know whether it will solve your problem. Some vehicles are made with a harder suspension, for various reasons.

I'm not sure but doesn't the UG3 already come with the gas type suspension?? Well, in your riding conditions, I'll have to agree, you might want to go for a softer suspension. Unfortunately, I don't have much idea what would be the best approach for that...

              Senior members / experts plz?

Pulsars have had gas charged rear shocks from ug2 onwards, not sure if any other shocks will fit pulsar, never tried it out.

Get your bike suspension's Gas refilled, it'll become very soft after that

But has it gotten worse with time?

That should only help if the softness of the suspension has gotten worse with time. Pavan, was the suspension softer when your bike was new? Did it deteriorate with time?

                      @Raunak.
No the suspension has been the same. It was as hard as it is now. BTW my bike is just 1900KMS old.

And yes my bike has gas charged shock rear absorbers, I guess that even gas charged suspension didnt help bajaj make pulsar a comfy ride.

^ gotto accept you cant make a pulsar a honda in terms of comfort.
shocks are set to the best comfort factory out. so it sits on the biggest teeth. putting it to other teeths also doesnt make much of a difference except for a bit better cornering...
i had a change of shocks to cbz ones and also changed the bolts to that of yam and splendor. didnt find it comfortably and was loosing balance all the way so had to switch back. also, my shocks broke once and the body side panels are weaker now.
why dont you get a better cushion? you can get good custom made comfortably ones from JC, ie, if you from bangalore.
