Hello Friends,

i am new to Xbhp. Would like to thank the administrator for accepting my account.
I have 2001 CBZ classic bike( Black)..I have some problem with the bike which im facing from few weeks.

Problem faced:

1. Every morning when i start my bike..on 2-3 gear it feels like somethng is pulling the bike behind thn all of sudden it takes pickup.....(gives jerks)
2. at 3-4-5 wen we keep the acceleration constant it gives jerks ..it happens wen i keep the acceleration as low as possible....but wen i increase the acceleration it dont give jerks....

TO sove the above problem:

1. Clutch plate changed (Hero orignal part)
2. Changed oil
3. changed spark pulg (convential)
4. cleaned the carburator (tunning)
5. cleaned the air filter
6. cleaned the fuel tank
7. checked the electrical wiring for fault
8. did overall servicing

COSTED around : 4500rs

but still the problem it there dont know what is the problem..frends can you help me locating the problem

@koranneamit am not 100% sure but there might be some electrical problems/rectifier/battery (problem might be with any of these) or else these problems won't happen and also what about the fuel tap. . . Take it to a good mechanic and not to ordinary mechanics. . .

Cheers!!!

I think ur problem is natural..this is seen in bikes at humid areas on cold start..after the engine gets heat up usually the bike rolls smooth..as u mentioned at 3-4-5 gears..but try accelerating lil bit till second gear( can use lil bit choking for warming up) and when rpm is slowly going beyond 5 or 6 shift up..usually problem is solved..if the problem exists even after engine got warmed up,then there is problem.. try checking plugs and cdi..ignition and throttle cable..fuel supply system etc..mostly u wont be requiring all those..

And on earlier cbz's there was an accelerator pump..u may check that for malfunctioning.. and get it touched up..may be this can be the sole reason except coil/cdi and carb.. greetings!!!

Re: CBZ classic Issues

A list of possible things.

1) AFR Tuning could be incorrect (very likely, also, the slightest amount of dirt in the carburettor will lead to hiccups)
2) The usual air leakage issue from any pipe connecting to the carb (need to trace this from the filter onwards)
3) Slide getting stuck (The CBZ classic has a Keihin carb)
4) Petrol tank dirty/ water in petrol (as you said, you had it cleaned, but do have the petrol on/off/Reserve valve and the filter checked for dirt and smooth fuel flow.
5) Electrical issues can be ruled out as this is a non DC bike, it will start with a kick and continue regardless of the conditions.
6) It's a possibility that the engine needs an overhaul (timing chain/valve issue) - have you had the engine checked out?

Remove the speedometer electrical connection. A faulty speedometer component may be the reason for electrical failure.

How does that work? I just want to get this clarified.

And koranneamit, check for CDI and timing. My Pulsar had the same issue and was sorted after changing the CDI. Also check if there is air leak around the exhaust or carb boots. Try to swap CDI from another CBZ and check. Would also recommend a compression check if it still does not work out. Good luck mate!

^^ A faulty/shorted tacho affects the ignition. Once it happened to my bike, and rectified by my mechanic after a days struggle. He just removed the speedo's electrical connection and everything solved.

Sorry...When you say speedo electrical connection, what exactly is it? Lighting, RPM, etc., So does it mean the speedo remains dummy for the rest of its life?

^^ Yes , its the lighting and rpm connection. If its solves the problem means he has to repair it or change it. But stil the speedo and odo works because it is mechanical .
