    Re: Pulsar Engine dies randomly.

    Hi there,
I too have the same model as "PetrolHead",,and i had the same problem,,the same solution worked for me,,the grounding to the CDi was faulty,so installed a wire directly from the cdi body/bolt to the bolt under the magneto cover...
Worked for me,,try it out... ..
If u can't explain it to a six year old; You don't understand it yourself!!

      Re: Pulsar Engine dies randomly.

Even i used to face the same problem with my Fiero F2... suppose if the engine starts, but automatically stops after a sec or 2, it NEVER starts again..!!!! all i used to do is wait for a COUPLE of hours, and then start it.. and to my suprise, it used to start in just 1 kick..!!! had some very difficult times while on the road. And during this prob, there would not be any sparking from the spark plug... So the mech diagnosed it with a lot of trial and errors, so the final solution was to change the CDI... its been almost a year, its been running smoothly...

I used to ride with headlights on even during the day and the trouble wasn't there. Finally a grounding solution with which I was able to manage for about a year and a half and finally the CDI gave up. I changed a new CDI.

I am glad your problem is resolved. Along with that I also suggest you replace the spark plugs with correct gap. Push in the connectors and place them beside the air filter box to avoid it getting wet during rains. Finally, I hope you got the CDI from Bajaj spares??? If yes good. Happy riding mate.

              Re: Pulsar Engine dies randomly.

Pulsar engine dies due to two reasons, and this is prominent especially when it rains, due the water seepage on the plugs, usually it's gets back on track by removing the plugs, blowing them or swapping the left to the right. THat's one.

Second, if it intermittently halts, you might have a CDI problem as there is intermittent sparks produced in the plugs. One way to check is that, remove plugs and see if you have sparks producing when cranked. If it does, you're okay, else you have issues with your COIL or CDI

              Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
