  • Help needed for Pulsar 150 upgradation.

Is is possible to fit the below part of new Pulsar 180 to a Pulsar 150 (2009 model without the tank scoops and with old type handle-bar)?

    1) Swing arm
    2) Front Forks
    3) new type handle bars
    4) Rear tires (This should be possible if Swing arm can be altered)
    5) Can the tank scoops be added to the older model tank

Is there any other replacement needed if these parts are changed ???

Also please update on the approximate cost of these parts.

All my friend want to know is if he can model the Pulsar 150 to a Pulsar 180 without touching the engine and the frame !!

Do I see a conflict here or am I wrong? Are you looking to change handlebars or not?

Why is your friend looking for such modifications? Personally, I do not think it would be worth the bucks, efforts and time unless he has specific reasons.

        Hi,

        He wants it look like a 180 which gives a mileage of a 150 !!! 180 looks cool than 150, doesn't it?

Yes, the handlebars needs to be changed. the new ones come with a different handle bars compared to the ones in 2009 which came with a normal single pipe.

The 2009 model will only have a normal tank like in Uni or splendor. The newer ones come with a plastic thing in it. Hope you got my point.

          1. Swing arm can be modified to any retrofitment. The only care is matching the swing arm bushes and the swing arm bolt. Price varies.

          2. Front forks alone may not compatible because there are many other mounts that mount the front forks. Also the disc brake assembly will need modification.

          3. You can surely fit the clip-on handle bars from the newer Pulsars. Cannot comment on the price though.

          4. Broader rear tire will require changing the swing arm. You can fit the 180 UG4 swing arm for accommodating the fatter tire.

          5. Holed metal strip can be welded on the petrol tank and scoops are available in the market. But improper angular measurements can make it a shabby job. Moreover, this mod will look odd on the old tank because the scoops are housed on the more sleeker new tanks.

Getting the originality finish might be a big challenge bro. The welding guy need to take a look at the stock tank first and then weld very patiently.

Or the best solution could be to source a used petrol tank at Pudupet.
In fact all your parts could be sourced there. PM me if you need help. I've been there many times.
