Yes , I took my old crankcase .
Yes this is the fist time engine is opened (odometer = 33500 km) .

I checked the crankcase , looks new .

I want to learn about engines, should I buy an old bike (jugaad type , ofcourse money will be a problem) and practice on that one (it might sound a silly idea ..).
    any other ideas....

My heartfelt thanks for your response.
Usually the gasket gets torn while separating the cases and it is too much risk for them not to replace a cheap item like gasket. I think they might have replaced it but forgot to mention it on the job card.(Very unlikely as they have mentioned even a small washer but mistakes can happen)

Unless it is leaking oil/mileage and power is low - stop worrying and enjoy your ride.

No need to get the entire bike when you can get scrap engines for as low as Rs.1500/-. Before investing money in a scrapped engine, invest money in some quality tools if you plan to work on your bike the DIY way.

Could you please do me one more favor ?
Please list all the tools needed to work on engine ,& their approx. price also .
(it's that feeling "yes , I can do that , and much better way . I know my way about the engine . The pleasure of knowing something ." --- that's why I want to learn ,only for my pleasure.)
Are you telling me about scrap engine of a 100cc bike (like splendor , passion , cd deluxe etc) ?

      thanks a ton again.

I am very happy to see the curiosity in you.
If you think that I am a helpful person and people like me are rare then you have not seen the contribution by the members of splendor and fiero threads.
I will post all the details there in splendor ownership thread, in the meanwhile- go through each and every post of that thread.

That was a very simple job, did not require anything that would take more than 20 minutes and cost more than 50 rupees. I'd have just rethreaded the hole to 20mm with a tap (the stock bolt is 17mm IIRC) and provide a new 20mm bolt for 50 rupees (30 rupees if you are an xBhpian) and with other general services like oil change which is necessary as the metal debris gets inside the crankcase while rethreading, air filter, spark plug cleaning, chain cleaning and adjusting tension, and the cleaning of the centrifugal filter which is highly recommended as the metal shavings get stored there would run to total of around 300 rupees due to the added cost of new engine oil.

No matter what, if a crankcase gets split, all parts should be cleaned and inspected for wear, and overhauling a Splendor engine doesn't cost 15,000 (If it did, nobody would overhaul Splendor engines)

About the tik tik sound I guess the timing chain weren't installed properly and might need replacement, maybe tappet noise too. The scratch on the cylinder looks like from compression and from heavy abrasion on concrete floor which were rough (run your hand over a plastered wall, you'll get the feeling). They did not support the engine properly while assembling/disassembling I guess.
          I am back!

Re: Huge problem with hero honda glamour (2007 model)

I really messed up everything . feeling really bad .
            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bike's odo = 33700 , it might be consuming engine oil (oh those @#$@#$ mechanics at ASC , they've really created huge problems) , I say this after inspecting the oil level in the oil indicator window and it's smoking too at high revs.
Now , the solution is cylinder oversize and new oversize piston , suppose if I go for a new cylinder kit and piston. then what other parts I should change so that it lasts for some good time .
thanks a ton for your reply brother ...

I just noticed, old bearings and seals with new crankcase? SVC won't give them free and nothing is mentioned in the bill about the bearings.

EDIT: Does new crankcase come with bearings already installed with seals?
