Re: Enclosed shed for parking motorcycle

I agree, Logically it doesn't make sense for 2 lakh bike to build 15-20k cage...
But when I think of repair cost wiring harness of P220 cost 3k, m sure dukes will be 6-8k... Plus it's naked bike so even more cables are exposed and if someone cut the abs cable too m sure repair cost will shoot exponentially ...

Best shot will be alarms!! You may not hear them, but they will surely scare off the kids or Mr.badguy who does this also it will alert the so called security

You can install a Bluetooth wireless camera installable on 12v DC. It has good transmission range to pair it with your phone or PC. If you want to install bike security alarm then go for Minda security as the quality is far better and you can get a programmed remote whenever you want in future.

man.. If there is a theft of only a 5 year used bike.. Its always heart breaking..
and this is being asked for a 2 lakh bike..
what if someone cuts the cables and damages the body.. That would also cost a way more..
best would be to get the permission for a cage and stay carefree..

          Ride safe and have fun.

Bluetooth wireless camera wont suffice, parking location is around 100 feet away from my house ...

I'm looking at these alarms viz
XENA Security Disc-Locks, Alarms and Accessories for Motorcycles and Scooters
Gorilla Cycle Alarms - Quality Motorcycle Alarms

These alarms seem advanced compared to Minda, but costs around 10k !!

            I'm so confused man :-/ ...

Re: Enclosed shed for parking motorcycle

One thing is for sure & has been proven time & time again - Anyone other than your acquaintances, would not care least about how much you care for your ride, PERIOD!! It is totally upto us. My corporate office is in the 4th floor & I do not get to see my ride, parked in the basement, the whole day. And believe me, every evening when I go to the parking, I am utterly disappointed with the bike's position, then I notice new scars (maybe psychological). I get really really pissed & think of beating the crap out of the miscreants but when I look back, I realize that there's no one that you can blame simply because YOU AIN"T GOT NO PROOF.

The shed that you've shown above looks protective & quite manageable but then again there are poopers in the society (every society has some) ready to spoil it for you. If you can convince, nothing like it. I feel the best bet is to discuss with the management of Owner's association.

Re: Enclosed shed for parking motorcycle

Since its an open parking, i am assuming that your society "president"/"secretary" etc will not give any permission unless you have very cordial relations with them.
Why would a bike cover not solve your problem I wonder.
Another option could be to use some kind of collapsible cage made of fibre (reference: baby mosquito nets- get the idea) which can be stored in your car's boot when not in use. Maybe it can be clamped down when in use.
Do take some kind of action as I do smell some miscreant who can cause damage again.

Simple Bike Cover could be lifted up or cut easily... Heck even the logos of the BMW parked in the society were stolen !

Thanks for the suggestions guys, have to think this through... Will update the thread once I figure out the best possible way...
