  • engine and bore problem in p150 ug 4.5

    Hello all,

I bought p150 ug 4.5 at september 2012. So far I have done 9900 KMS. I drive smoothly and I alone use the bike. I rarely cross 100 KM speedmark.
major problems with the bike are
1.vibrations-they are more..can easily feel them at low as well as high speeds.
2.milege- irrespective of the driving speed and condition i am getting only 35kmpl.
    3. suspension- the front suspension isnt right. its too stiff and doesnt action properly.

I have complained regarding the service station for the above mentions from the 1st service itself, they said the new bike has to run for several thousand kms to get settled and kept giving reasons rather than solutions.
After 3 free services, i serviced it outside. The local mechanic did a good job, vibrations were reduced and i had put motul 7100 engine oil. after a few days of 4th service the mileage began to drop noticeably.
Left for 5th service to another local mechanic..again the service was proper, no vibrations, but the mechanic told there is some problem with the bore as the engine used to turn off after leaving the throttle from high rpms. A week back I started noticing decrease in the engine oil level. took it to other reputed mechanic in the city(Bangalore) this time, He just checked the silencer and noticed the black residues inside, turned the engine on and rised the throttle and said the bore and the crack shaft has problems and it would cost a total of 8k for the repairs.
Today went to the bajaj service center through a friend, met the owner and he said bore is fine as the silencer isnt emitting white smoke and he said the oil level naturally reduces by 200 ML and the crankshaft cant develop any problem within so less time. (My engine from the day of purchase sounds different from other pulsars.) He told to leave the bike and he would need 2 days to check everything and repair. I am in a dilemma- one side i am thinking to sell off this bike the other side i am unsure as to whom to believe, the mechanics or this service center guys.
Please suggest me what would be the ideal thing to do, this is my first bike and i have taken care of it very much. pls help me and thanks in advance.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

If you are looking to keep the bike please let us know and we can offer solutions. The situation is of course troublesome. I would suggest you to be patient for some more time and things will be sorted out. You can consider selling the bike only if you intend on purchasing a new bike.

The best advice for now would be to take help from an BHPian in your city who is willing to inspect the bike .

@balakrishnavijay I'll just tell you in short. . . I think you are having a different problem as every time you leave the bike to service, it gets fine and after 2-3 times with the same mechanic, it gets back to it's original form. . . Why don't you try changing the oil and go for something like Shell ultra or Castrol Power1 Racing, . . Or else, just simply wait for the SVC guys to correct your problem and even after that it's not solved, you have no option but to sell it. . . It's better to put those money to buy another bike rather than spending on this. . .

BTW I don't understand why people do like this, some customers get defective products, okay fine, not every bike will be perfect but why not they exchange the bike with another new one as you have bought a new one and paid so much, just to take a shit. . . Too bad on these companies. . .

        Cheers!!!

Re: engine and bore problem in p150 ug 4.5

left it to service today at the authorised service center, they said the entire repairs would cost me 750 rupees including labour and parts.(without engine oil change) will be getting the bike by today evening or after 2 days if they insisted on keeping the bike for testing. if things go out well, the bike should be fine else i will sell it and thinking to buy 200ns.
even though the the service center guys fix it, i intend to take it to other experienced persons/mechanics and have it examined.
can anyone suggest me the good mechanic in bangalore (around madiwala, jayanagar, koramangala and hosur road) who can thoroughly inspect my bike?

ya man....so sad that they dont have proper quality policies. I own yamaha ray and just got a call from service people regarding the replacement of handle bar..now thats responsibility and quality management.

Regarding engine oil, isnt motul 7100 or 5100 fine? I mean is there any specific reason for putting shell ultra or castrol power1 racing?
